Responsibilities

Position Summary

·         Responsible for monitoring, deploying, automating, maintaining, troubleshooting and improving the systems that keep the application and backend infrastructure running smoothly.

·         The role requires you to have hands-on technical experience and a can-do approach towards environment automation / management and continuous improvement.

·         The role will encompass the use of a broad range of application, operating systems (Windows, Unix) and application environments (Sybase, Oracle DB, SQL Server, IIS, Tomcat )

·         Work closely with application & development teams to ensure that:

    • Immediate issues are investigated, analyzed and resolved leading to…
    • Solutions that are designed with customer user experience, scale/performance and operability in mind
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools.

·         Mandatory to have Experience on :

·         Trading or invest banking systems

·         Hands on Monitoring application availability

·         Application performance

·         Addressing end user complaints

·         Understanding and working to OLAs and SLAs

·         Validating scripts and analyzing failure logs

·         Data validation / reconciliation

·         Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential.

·         Ability to code and debug script

Profile required

Required Skills and Experience:

4-6 years’ experience on  investment banking with the role of application support/technical engineer.

Scripting Skills:            Strong scripting (e.g.  shell, pearl), and automation skills.

Operating Systems:   Linux & windows system administration.

Monitoring Tools:      Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. ITRS, Nagios).

Problem Solving:         Data validation, reconciliation, Ability to analyze Batch infrastructure and reprocessing techniques

DB Skills:                    Basic DB administration experience (Sybase, Oracle, SQL Server).
