Lead System Engineer-Network & Security

Responsibilities

  • Delivery & Operations

    Mandatory Skills:

  • 10+ years of experience and at least 8+ years relevant experience in handling Firewalls
  • Well versed with Security skills (firewall coding, policy pushes, )
  • Experience on CheckPoint Firewall Upgrades and Replacements (as part of legacy refresh)
  • Knowledge on Routing and Switching & F5 to perform end to end route check
  • In depth knowledge on implementing VPN solutions on Checkpoint/Juniper/Fortigate firewalls
  • Extensive troubleshooting experience on VPN related issues on Firewalls
  • Knowledge on Firewall administration and orchestration tools such as Tufin
  • High level knowledge of the firewalls is mandatory
  • Must know to code on a Fortiget and Checkpoint FW
  • Prior experience in Juniper/CheckPoint/Cisco TAC or Network Operation Center (L3/L4 level)
  • Experience in supporting large enterprise level network infrastructure with more than 5000 devies
  • Routing - BGP, OSPF, EIGRP + Switching, NXOS, Cisco ACI, F5
  • Hands on experience on designing/ managing VPN infrastructure.
  • Take the lead in outage calls
  • Own and drive root cause and permanent resolution
  • Perform moderate network changes
  • Provide expertise as Network SME
  • Good communication and presenting skills
  • Good to have Skills:

  • Basic understanding of Proxies
  • Familiarity in handling complex Network Infras containing multi-VRF architecture
  • Good to have similar knowledge on Fortigate Firewalls
  • DHCP, DNS, AD Knowledge

Profile required

Day to day work:

  • Review the existing process and update it for being more autonomous.
  • Propose new process and create new documentations.
  • Define improvement plan: how to decrease number of alarm and escalations.
  • Deal with Paris NRE TEAM to have approval or be autonomous on the resolution of the incident / alarms.
  • Give an improvement plan for reducing number of tickets escalated to Paris team.
  • Create a process (for instance):
  • Before an escalation to Paris team, a close analyze must be done and they must propose an action plan.
  • They must “validate” or “review” the execution of the action with the accountable.
  • Create a monthly meeting with Paris NRE team just to show the improvement plan.
  • Create a monthly meeting with the same overview of the weekly to see the trend for instance.

Qualifications

  • Strong academic background with technology skills. CCIE/CCSE/CCSM can be good.
  • Good Network and Security knowledge (Routing & Switching, Firewalls)
  • 10+ years of experience and at least 8+ years relevant experience in handling firewalls & proxies
  • Knowledge of ITIL concepts.
  • Should have extensively worked on Fortigate and Checkpoint firewalls

  • Strong stakeholder engagement / Client Relationship Management
  • Very good attitude, good listener and adapter
  • Motivated and proactive and ready to take more challenges

Miscellaneous

  • Be available on-call support during non-business hours and weekends
  • Mitigate Organizational Risk: Continue documentation for every setup & new project with mapping of services to ensure to eliminate risks associated with in core infra services.
