The Learning & Development, Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator will focus on the implementation of SG AMER’s Diversity, Learning and Development strategies across the region, having responsibility for providing learning program coordination and support. This position will report to the Head of Talent & Development for SG Americas and the Head of HR for Canada, working as part of an integrated People and Talent Development (PTD) team to support the needs of Human Resources (HR) and our business clients. The purpose of this position is to provide transversal support in all areas related to diversity, learning and development.

During your VIE mission you will be in charge of these responsibilities :

  • Work in partnership with the NY-based Head of T&D and Montreal-based HR team to manage the execution of SG Americas Diversity, Learning & Development initiatives in Canada
  • Coordinate and attend Leadership and Development programs; gather and analyze information from multiple sources to design course content; including prepping attendees, ensuring all details are handled and providing feedback on events
  • Act as the logistical contact for planning and execution of learning sessions and events; responsible for securing space, producing course materials, collecting feedback and partnering with all vendors to adjust learnings as needed.
  • Support the learning efforts by coordinating with MyHR on reporting, monitoring, and ensuring learning attendance.
  • Partner with Human Resources Business Partners to ensure appropriate participation/attendance and engagement in learning and development initiatives
  • Monitor costing and budgeting reports for Canada development activities (spent, participation, etc.) for review by Canada Head of HR and/or HRBPs
  • Coordinate and facilitate monthly Employee On-Boarding sessions, delivering virtual and in-person sessions in accordance with the learning program outline and content. Manage sessions, timelines and schedules; responsible for updating training content on HR portal website including tuition reimbursement, expenses, etc.
  • Responsible for PTD communications including communications to our internal partners, HRBPs and staff across all PTD disciplines (including metrics and data regarding training efforts, development events, performance management process); working with the Communications Department as necessary.

Support the US Team in the PTD initiatives for the region

  • Work with the region to ensure the AMER Training Catalog is fully applicable to Canada and/or is clear on what is available to which country and in what language to ensure this document is a true regional document.
  • Work with the Region to analyze possibilities to have centralized vendor that can provide trainings in both USA and CANADA.
  • Provide support on all PTD Projects, including but not limited to special campaigns such as the Junior Training Program and the Mentoring Program.
  • Support and engage with the Employee Resource Groups

Profile required


You have impeccable attention to detail, a collaborative working style, excellent critical thinking skills and sound judgment.

You should be comfortable asking for clarification, understand how to prioritize requests, and be able to balance multiple workstreams simultaneously.

Additionally, we are seeking a team member who values and delivers excellent client service. This encompasses a proclivity towards developing strong partnerships, establishing trust and credibility, communicating clearly and thoughtfully, and taking ownership over one’s work.

You should consider yourself digitally confident including working in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel, and be comfortable learning and navigating new systems.

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in Montréal is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space.
