Market Data Specialist

Hong Kong, Hong Kong Permanent contract IT (Information Technology)



  • Point of contact for all invoices queries
  • Tracking of service additional cost/cancellation cost
  • Validation of exchange declaration/cost approval from business
  • Maintain product catalog and pricing
  • Maintenance of Contracts (cancellation, renewal …)


  • Maintain good knowledge of vendor products, strategy and roadmap
  • Lobbying on key issues, if any
  • Develop close relationships with vendors


  • End to end management of Market Data request for end-users (order initiation, approval, liaising with vendor, client and IT support, updating inventory and permissioning system)
  • Close governance of Market Data admin processes
  • Inventory updates and monitoring
  • Invoices tracking and management
  • System and users permissioning and governance
  • Follow up with Bangalore team on processes and user requests 

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain close relationship with business, especially the front office.
  • Deep understanding of the business nature of key business lines.
  • Point of contact regarding Market Data solutions.

Business Analysis

  • Benchmarking on data and product in the industry.
  • Support and recommendation on new business need.
  • Market intelligence with peers.


  • Contract negotiations with providers.
  • Liaise with external auditors

Profile required

•    Holds a relevant Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information System or similar
•    At least 5 years experience in the Market data industry
•    Experience in business analysis and project management in large/global organizations
•    Proven track record to optimize processes & organization with continous improvement mindset
•    Experience with Agile frameworks, feature teams organizations (scrum, product ownership...)
•    Market Data Vendors and Product knowledge (ICE, CMEgroup, Reuters/Refinitiv, Bloomberg, Markit, S&P, Moody’s)

•    Ability to manage critical vendor relationships and interact with senior business stakeholders
•    Experience in liaising with external auditors / exchanges
•    Ability to manage medium scale projects in complex organizations (many stakeholders, global setup...)
•    Excellent analytical capability and communication skills (interaction with senior partners)
•    Document and formalize all communications, be well organized with a structured approach
•    Ability to review/negotiate legal terms and contracts, manage sensitive negotiations with business stakeholders and 3rd parties
•    Strong production mindset
•    Understanding of Data management frameworks and best practices (automation, data quality...)
•    Bring people of various background together, demonstrate leadership to find consensus
