Job Description – Open Source Support/Contribution
Ø With Open Source Program Office, build a support framework on Open Source technologies within the organization
Ø Establish connection with IT teams to understand their consumption on Open Source and the trend of evolution
Ø Identify strategic products/projects where organization should contribute time to time
Ø Contribute on diverse technologies (described in MUST HAVE section) in the community
Ø Identify strategic projects to be sponsored by the organization and help build the business case around it
Ø Ensure support availability for all internal requirements
Ø Making sure all releases, patches and upgrades to the relevant technologies are available to the organization right after they are introduced
Ø Identify, propose and monitor success factors around support/contribution
Ø Excellent communication skills:
o Communicate the vision, objectives and roadmap to different stakeholders
o Facilitate workshops with IT teams for Open Source strategy
Ø Technical Skills (80%)
o Has good IT knowledge to work with Architects, BAs and technical teams
o Good knowledge of Linux OS
o Opensource application skills relevant to day to day work, development, networking, collaboration, security, etc.
