Responsibilities

Base Salary Range: $62,000 - $260,000
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.

As the team grows, an employee with Audit and Control background will assist in the expanding role the Payment Expert team will have with Risk Controls, systems, thresholds and special projects.

The candidate’s primary responsibilities will be to assist in:

  • Analyzing business processes, procedures, and risks and evaluating the internal controls
  • Preparing work papers and drafting findings to bring any concerns to management’s attention
  • Tracking and following up on open audit and regulatory issues with the stakeholders
  • Working on special projects
  • Performing as the lead on projects, i.e.: define control procedures, determine the scope, priorities, time schedule and budget, identify required resources; identify root causes, develop SMART recommendations, etc.
  • Independently and autonomously driving parts of the control process, i.e.: fill parts of diagnostic matrix, suggest areas for review, propose procedures to be performed; identify and rank risk on a process; propose relevant sampling strategies, etc.
  • Preparing high quality workpapers that support the findings and conclusions
  • Providing high quality and impactful reports, including executive summaries
  • Organizing and leading interviews and meetings on complex topics and audit missions with other departments and senior team members; providing concise and comprehensive presentation of results
  • Following up on the implementation of recommendations and the action plans
  • Participating in department wide transformation projects and actively contributing, communicating, and implementing the changes, and supporting others through the process

This role offers the candidate an opportunity to interact with the many business lines throughout the organization as well as Paris (global head).  The candidate will find themselves communicating with Operational Groups, vendors (such as Broadridge and APTP), Accounts Payable, Network Management, Compliance, Credit, External Banks and Technology (both AMER and Paris) on a daily basis.

Day to day responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Review and storage of daily reports (used to measure monthly metrics)
  • End of day system review for potential payments requiring Risk review
  • Assist with System Administration.  The team reviews daily requests from the local ticketing system (POPS) and does administration for over 30 applications (adding and deleting user access)
  • Analysis of extracts of several systems to determine threshold payment levels per department for the coming year
  • Gather & analyze manual payments made and reported on a weekly basis (MPLEF)
  • Review Global Trading Report for accuracy and for follow up for mandatory training
  • Assist in tracking participation on training sessions on payment processes with the Back Office Operations teams
  • Gathering weekly and monthly metrics used to determine key performance indicators (KPI)
  • Gather and review of data to complete monthly/quarterly online control procedures (GPS)
  • Oversight for the Swift Monitoring team in Bangalore – weekly review
  • Ad hoc requests to assist with any of the items listed below

Future responsibilities will increase with proven understanding and ownership of required tasks which include but not limited to:

  • Identify payment related norm and control procedures and work closely with Back Office and Compliance to adjust permanent supervision as necessary
  • Coordinate response to internal and external audit requests associated to internal and external payment systems, to review local procedures and identify gaps in regional processes from an audit perspective
  • Identify global payment securitization rules and procedures comply with group standards
  • Participating in projects from a payment perspective
  • Review user profiles associated with payment systems throughout Back Office groups in North America, review profiles and verify departmental functions align with user access profiles
  • Participate in the definition and evolution of the Global Payment Dashboard used to monitor performance and risks of the payment process
  • Participate in the Global Payment Dashboard review with the Global Payment to capture KPI’s related to manual payments processed in the region
  • Participate in the governance set up by Global Payment Supervisor

Profile required

COMPETENCIES

Required:

  • Working knowledge of Operational Payment Systems, Financial Products, SWIFT, OFAC/Regulatory, and understanding of payment and cash flows
  • Strong presentation skills, communication skills and project/initiative tracking capability
  • Sense of urgency and ability to operate under time constraints
  • Ability to interact with front office and other business resource groups
  • Promotes collaborative efforts across teams and individuals toward shared goals
  • Facilitates discussion and resolution of conflicts - drives change

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Required:

  • Audit and Control background
  • Significant expertise on Operations payment processes
  • Knowledge and use of SWIFT preferable
  • Ability to play a referential role and act as an educator
  • Capacity for analyzing, observing and executing change
  • Strong Microsoft skills especially Excel required

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Minimum 6+ years direct experience in Audit/Control/Payment processing 

EDUCATION

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Finance/Business focus)

  • English
