The Société Générale Group has been in Spain since 1906 offering retail banking products until 1992. Since 1992, the Group changed its focus to Corporate and Investment Banking, Asset Management and Banking Services. Today, the Group is one of the major actors on the Spanish market.

Mission: 

                As part of the Payments and Cash Management Team, he/she will be responsible to develop the local Payment and Cash Management offer and ensure Société Générale is at or above market standards, thus allowing the Group to win Cash Management mandates and develop the business with SG Madrid Corporate clients.  The Payments and Cash Management Product Manager will primarily cover SG needs in Spain but potential development of the Group Payments and Cash Management footprint in other countries would also fall under his/her responsibility.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the local Payments and Cash Management market
  • Market watch: carry out regular market / competition watch on Cash Management scope to share with the local Management & the central marketing teams
  • Regulatory watch, local specificities and evolutions
  • In tight coordination with the central product marketing teams, develop the Payments and Cash Management offering
  • Define a comprehensive short and medium-term country cash management product strategy
  • Identify and propose local products offer development priorities, based on both local and global solutions
  • Participate in global projects to develop new Group solutions and run local products development projects
  • Support sales efficiency
  • Provide Payments and Cash Management expertise product support to sales teams
  • Promote domestic capabilities of GTB externally
  • Monitor P&CM products usage and reliability
  • Follow key products KPIs
  • Participate to local / global Payments and Cash Management crisis resolution efforts when required
  • Support global initiatives and report to central marketing teams
  • Share market information with local and global experts
  • Contribute to global assessment of products that may affect local clients
  • Act as Project Manager for those projects requiring internal developments where PCM Spain must intervene

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Degree - Business Administration
  • Minimum proven experience of 6-8 years in cash management

Language skills:

  • Spanish: Native / Fluent (mandatory)
  • English: Strong professional level (mandatory)
  • French: Professional level (recommended)

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Knowledge of Transaction Banking channels (e.g. SWIFT, SEPA, clearing systems)
  • Good understanding of the current and future product needs of Corporate clients
  • Excellent analytical and product management skills
  • Prior project management experience
  • Computer literate with the ability to learn client service software applications
  • Demonstrated client-centric mindset and behavior
  • A team player, eager to support and learn, and can foster collaborative working relationships across the organization
  • Strong communication skills
  • Able to apply questioning skills for in-depth analysis of attitudes, situations, problems and priorities to determine optimum strategy on how to deal with them
  • Able to work autonomously and use initiative where appropriate
  • Organized and able to prioritize work appropriately
  • Adhere to policies including escalation and compliance requirements, and follow any other relevant internal controls and procedures as they relate to process, products, policies and regulations
