FRM (Finance, Risk and Market Data) is a business line in SGGSC/GBSU that provides services to RISQ and DFIN. RPC (Risk and P&L Certifications) is a tribe, part of FRM, partnering with RISQ/RMA/MMG and other business partners and helping them in the areas of market risk metrics monitoring and market risk regulatory requirements.


Data Chapter primarily drives the core Risk & Finance platform strategy by architecting, designing, building and maintaining the core platform (Metrics Platform) that forms the base for key Market Risk functions like metrics monitoring and certification, market risk regulatory requirements. The platform is being built by transforming certain legacy key applications as well as by developing new components, aligning with the digital transformation objectives of SG group. Core platform uses APIs, UI/UX strategy, Cubes and is built in a data lake using big data ecosystem with HDFS, HBase, Hive, Spark, Kafka.

Profile Required

  • Define and execute chapter’s vision and strategy, maintain a chapter backlog, ensure other chapter managers and key stakeholders outside business have a clear understanding of the Data Chapter strategy  
  • Maintain regular communication with Global Data Chapter manager so as to understand and participate in the evolution of core platform and be a bridge between Global Data Chapter Manager and the business in Bangalore in matters related to Core Platform / SGMR / L2R 
  • Ensure the chapter members in the feature teams (FT) contribute to the feature team deliveries consistent with the Data Chapter objectives and standards
  • Interact with other chapter managers, key chapter managers in other tribes and business partners to manage their expectations and fulfil the objectives of Data Chapter
  • Develop and maintain adequate resources (both in terms of number of resources and skill/experience of resources) in the Data Chapter to contribute to the overall Risk & Finance platform road-map and objectives. Manage the hiring plans for the Data Chapter accordingly
  • Organize training sessions on the core platform and related technologies for the Tribe / Business line to ensure the platform evolution is continuously updated to relevant stakeholders
  • Drive the Data Chapter members to deliver the best and ensure the team members aspirations, training/self-development needs are taken care. Resolve personal conflicts and act as a mentor to the team members.
  • Contribute to the identified transversal activities and volunteer / drive the key events like hackathons, tech day etc.


  • Total experience of 10-15 years in the technology industry in banking domain (preferably in the Risk Management sub-domain)
  • People management experience – experience in managing a team of 10-15 senior technical leads/architects, software engineers and business analysts
  • Hands-on experience in big data technologies (HDFS, HBase, Hive, Spark, Kafka), REST APIs and should have been part of digital transformation initiative with knowledge of UI/UX, RDBMS, Cubes and Monitoring 
  • Experience in working in an on-site/off-shore model and managing business partners
