Mission: 

The candidate will join the Italian Project Finance team, focusing on financial advisory and arrangement of no-recourse transactions in the Infrastructure and Energy space. The team is currently composed of 8 people and is seen as one of the most expert and successful in the Italian market.

The new employee will support the team in originating and executing advisory and financing transactions, aiming to quickly increase her/his degree of autonomy. The business flow will expose the candidate to a wide variety of projects and enable her/him to grow in a highly dynamic and motivating environment. The position requires a self-confident person who is a self-starter; highly motivated and reliable, with strong team spirit.

Tasks and responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible, under the supervision of more senior staff, of the accuracy and quality of the material produced for clients.

The new team member will be involved in every step of a transaction and specifically:

  • Supporting the team through all steps of the origination and marketing phases such as: preparation of marketing materials, credentials, pitches, indicative term sheets.
  • Financial modeling: building and analyzing cash flow models and running sensitivities;
  • Reviewing critically due diligence materials (market, technical, insurance, legal, tax) and taking active role in the related Q&A sessions;
  • Support in the structuring of the transaction: review of the key features of the terms sheet and finance documents;
  • All aspects of the credit process, including preparation of credit applications, internal rating and profitability tools;
  • Discussing with internal departments (syndication, internal consultants, hedging) the main aspects of a transaction;
  • Portfolio management activities (waiver, amendments, annual reviews);
  • General support as required within Project Finance, including support to the administrative functions (liaising with DIR/COO team, Middle office);
  • Tracking and monitoring the business unit’s results;
  • New client on-boarding and periodic KYC checks;
  • Maintaining up to date knowledge of the latest IT tools and ensuring these are systematically implemented when requested.

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • Master of Science or Bac+5 in a related discipline, such as Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics;
  • The candidate shall have at least 3-y experience in project finance, investment banking, infrastructure / private equity funds, large corporates or advisory / auditing firms.

Language skills:

  • English – Fluent written & spoken – pre-requisite;
  • Italian – minimum Intermediate level – pre-requisite.

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is mandatory due to modelling activity which is a critical activity;
  • Advanced knowledge of PowerPoint is mandatory due to Client Presentation activity which is a critical activity;
