Responsibilities

Primary responsibility includes driving all aspects of complex cross functional projects and programs, primarily with a Risk focus, aligned to industry leading PM practices. The PM must be comfortable building action plans from strategic requirements, challenging stakeholders on risk, plans and strategy, and adding value as an engaged member of the team. The capacity to manage 3rd party consultants and junior team members, as well as interaction with international project teams is expected.

Experience in financial services with a strong preference for capital markets and investment banking background is preferred with additional direct experience in Risk or Risk sponsored projects. Fluency in corporate technology process, but not necessarily the SDLC is a big plus.  

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Lead the successful & timely completion of programs to achieve SG business goals, including the identification and mitigation of risks that may impact successful program delivery
  • Act as Program Manager for fast paced programs and continuously ensure their alignment to change and transformation goals
  • Decision change and strategy of a program in collaboration with senior sponsors
  • Build strong relationships with program stakeholders
  • Build strong plans with appropriate level of detail to provide adequate transparency to all stakeholders
  • Lead an active Risk Management process
  • Independently assess progress and risk and communicate clearly to all stakeholders (including Senior Management) on a timely basis
  • Facilitate, coordinate, and arbitrate cross-functional conversations about progress, risk and strategy with all key stakeholders (often including Senior Management)
  • Employ program processes, procedures, methods, and standards for program delivery; leverage these across the organization
  • Maintain weekly and monthly operating reports
  • Guarantee compliance with SG program management procedures and tools

Prior Work Experience

  • 5+ years with project management and/or IT business analysis experience in Investment Banking
  • 5+ years of experience directly interfacing with business clients (front office, middle office and back office) to comprehend and develop technical or user process solutions
  • Demonstrated Risk subject matter knowledge, ideally having worked in risk, or leading risk sponsored projects
  • Experience working with global teams – support, infrastructure, development

Société Générale’s Risks on Market Activities and Liquidity Management, or RMA, is responsible for independently overseeing market risk activities across all relevant scope areas of SGUS and ensuring that market risk exposures are managed effectively by defining key risk assessment and stress testing methodologies. RMA also conducts development of certain capital and economic models, such as Value-at-Risk models.
