1. Build Chapter’s vision and strategy
Build a long-term vision consistent with tribe’s and leagues’ needs
Build a value proposal with expected benefits
Build an implementation strategy and a related chapter’s backlog
Communicate and support Chapter vision to stakeholders
Ensure Chapter vision is well understood and followed by stakeholders
2. Help Chapter on achieving its objectives
Build and prioritize backlog items with Chapter members
Organize and facilitate ceremonies related to backlog execution
Follow and report progress of backlog execution
Support Chapter in removing its impediments
Monitor coherency of execution by FTs of Chapter’s backlog items
Facilitate Chapter’s interactions with other Chapters and Leagues
Ensure League’s processes steering and resilience at tribe level
3. Foster skills development and knowledge sharing
Nurture a high level of expertise aligned with Chapter’s vision
Develop members’ skills with trainings, coaching, and sharing
Ensures the team works collectively with autonomy and initiative
Support continuous improvement dynamic of the chapter
Create an inspiring work environment to foster innovation
Ensure Chapter’s skills resilience for at tribe level
4. Maintain his own expertise through an operational activity, if possible
Has an operational activities related to his job in addition to his Chapter Leader role
In some context (eg.: launching phase, Chapter size), Chapter Leader activities may be more intensive, reducing his operational activities
When Chapter members gets more autonomous, Chapter Leader activities should decrease, which should be considered as a success.
The Chapter Leader can decide to rotate the delegation of part of his activities to other Chapter’s members (eg: ceremonies facilitation) as a lever for people’s autonomy, while keeping accountability
5. AS MANAGER
As manager, he has all the Chapter Leader activities, plus people management activities. The role becomes a job, and the additional operational activites are decided based on chapter context with the Tribe Manager.
Manage Chapter’s members
Set individuals’ objectives jointly with Chapter’s, FT’s, and leagues’ ones
Evaluate individuals in sync with PO, AgM, and League Leaders feedbacks
Handles administrative management (holidays, business trips, …)
Develop people (training, coaching) facilitating their career orientation
Evaluate his Chapter’s workforce and organize recruitments
Allocate resources to FT, in sync with the AgM identifying needed skills and considering their evolution
