What are you applying for?

The Global Business Service Unit (“GBSU”) department has worldwide responsibility for supplying Global Banking and Investor Solutions (“GBIS”) with all the technology and operations resources necessary for them to function under competitive conditions in terms of technological standards, service quality and cost.

As a Quality Assurance analyst within our Global Business Support Unit (GBSU), you will be working on various Front Office fixed income trading applications. You will be part of a growing team that develops and supports software in an Agile environment for price/inventory publication, inquiry management and straight through processing of electronic trades. Our software interacts with various external electronic trading systems and exchanges such as Bloomberg, Tradeweb, BrokerTec, Trad-X, MarketAxess, etc.

What will be your day-to-day?

You will be in charge of managing the testing activities of the team to reduce operational risk, increasing stability of the current trading platform, and eventually reducing time to market to increase the business value of the team.

  • You will review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables
  • You will be in charge of maintaining and improving the testing environment
  • You will identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan.
  • You will develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and automated scripts.
  • You will perform and coordinate both manual and automated testing with developers and offshore teams, and ensure readiness of the packages for releases

Typical requirements could be the enhancement of the e-trading platform to support a new type of security, or the expansion of the platform to support a new electronic market or internal trading desk.

Profile required

What does it take to get the job?

We've learned that when our support team understands the technology our products are built with, we provide better support.

  • You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar technical position.
  • You have some knowledge of financial products or Fixed Income markets and exchanges, (ie. Bloomberg and Tradeweb)
  • You are comfortable interacting with a variety of clients and support staff such as developers, business analysts, traders, middle office, etc.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
  • You have great communication skills and you are comfortable presenting demos to product owners (in this case our traders)
  • Bilingualism (English/French) will be considered an asset

Technical skills:

  • You have working experience using Quality Center
  • You have working knowledge or experience with objected-oriented programming languages
  • You have some automation testing experience
  • You have good knowledge of source control and deployment tools (GitHub, TeamCity)
