Responsibilities :

In order to provide assistance to the traders as well as to the quant traders a significant amount of development is required. The development breaks down into 3 core activities:

1) Market Intelligence – this includes obtaining detailed statistics from the different markets the Execution Services team are using. Examples of such details include but are not limited to volatility, spread, volume and that per index and per sector.

2) Impact analysis– this involves using statistical data to analyze how buying/selling certain types and quantities of stocks will impact the price of those stocks. This includes also analysis on how to hedge risk if such positions would be taken as principal.
The key idea is to build a risk reward framework for different types of business. Ideas generated need to be back tested and provisional results reported to the team for feedback.

3) Trading Intelligence – this involves providing the Quant traders with the necessary tools and data to help improve the trading tools.

The candidate will work with the local quant trades as well as with the quant analysis in Paris who will provide direction to the candidate’s objectives. The position requires a lot of rigor and attention to detail. In return, the analytical and development baggage of the candidate will significantly increase, not only on the theoretical side but also on the practical side.

Profile required

Profile Requirements:

  • You are graduated with a Master degree from Engineering or Business School or University with a specialization in Financial Market and computer science
  • A previous significant working experience in financial industry (ideally in a bank)
  • Development projects on trading tools, handling large amounts of data
  • C#, any C knowledge orientated language
  • Python/R, data analysis languages
  • Stock market knowledge
  • Mathematical Background
  • Should have the capacity to work autonomously and demonstrate strong analytical sense.
  • Familiar with products traded (stocks and futures).
  • Fluent English is mandatory

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Hong Kong is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.
