Quantitative Interest Rates Algo Trader

Main responsibilities

  • Within the rates market making team, identify market opportunities with a time horizon of milliseconds to weeks
  • Analyze large data sets to build statistically based and process-driven trading algorithms
  • Development of trading algorithms that provide liquidity to our clients and take positions according to both short- and long-term trading strategies to optimize trading revenue
  • Increase of the product perimeter managed by the algorithms (maturity, markets,...)
  • Collaboration with the FIC voice trading desks to identify and define new trading strategies & optimize franchise offering; includes evaluation of market conditions, economic data & market information
  • Define and implement solutions to automate further market making capabilities
  • Make decisions for optimal adaptation of algorithms to market conditions including volatility settings, risk aversion and bid-offer spreads
  • Perform portfolio analysis (incl PnL attribution, Sharpe ratio monitoring, balance sheet consumption) and franchise behavior analysis, and system integrity analysis
  • Weekly meeting with Head of Business regarding ongoing research, performance, client analysis and projects
  • Back-up on the others activities (IRS Euro, UST London hour,...)
  • Help with training of juniors, onboarding, providing guidance
  • Remain compliant at all times within the SG trader mandate and local regulatory guidelines

Profile required



- Finance advanced knowledge: Strong knowledge of derivatives pricing, interest rates models and risk management

- Mathematical advanced knowledge: Strong knowledge of stochastic calculus, statistics and probabilities

- Highly collaborative: An open individual who can work successfully with multi-disciplinary, multi-national teams

- High achiever driven to exceed expectations, with the highest personal standards regarding integrity and confidentiality

- Must be able to quickly analyze client needs, risks for the bank, available liquidity and idiosyncratic risks to the franchise

- High level of autonomy with leadership potential

- Demonstrated ability to build relationships within a large organization and partner with other business heads


Strong programming (C#, Python…) and algo design/implementation


5-10 years of experience trading in a global bank or a quant position

Desired: Highly quantitative subject such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Compouter Science, Physics or related fields or equivalent
