Responsibilities
We are looking for a Research Associate to work with our Head of U.S. Quantitative Research and team in the New York office of Bernstein’s premier sell-side Equity Research platform. You will have a high level of responsibility on a team and be empowered to make an important contribution.
As a Research Associate, you will:
· Acquire expertise working with the Bernstein Head of U.S. Quantitative Research and team
· Develop and implement sophisticated quantitative tools including stock selection models, risk models, and portfolio analysis. In addition to contributing to our published research, the role will have responsibility for a high level of bespoke products for our institutional client base
· Demonstrate thought leadership and make significant contributions to our highly differentiated written product and forward-looking financial analysis
· Develop relationships with institutional clients, sales, trading as well as interact with senior leaders in the industry
Profile required

Basic Qualifications
· For this role we are ideally seeking a minimum two years of relevant professional experience with a thorough understanding of financial and statistical modeling concepts.
· Candidates should demonstrate familiarity with financial statements and accounting.
· The ability to build solutions to complex analytical problems and successfully communicate findings with a sophisticated institutional client base is essential.
· Track record of outstanding academic performance, including honors and awards. Academic credentials typically include test scores and grades in the 90th percentile and above
· Proficiency in SAS, MATLAB, Python or R required.
· At least a bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Finance, Financial Engineering and/or a related field.
· Excellent broad-based analytical skills, along with strong foundations in finance, markets, and statistics
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
· Strong quantitative backgrounds (credentials such as the CFA welcome)
· Relentless intellectual curiosity and a drive to excel at the highest level
Preferred Qualifications
· Proficiency Visual Basic is a plus.
· A post-graduate qualification in a related field is welcome, but not a requirement
