Description of the Business Line or Department
RISQ’s organisation in the UK is commensurate with the activities carried out locally and the nature of the risks thus generated. RISQ provides the appropriate level of expertise and decision-making capacity needed locally, in accordance with the nature, scale and complexity of risks originated by SGLB, while relying on the integrated model based at Group level for the majority of risk control services.
The RISQ department within SGLB covers the following functions:
- to identify, assess, report, monitor and validate Credit risks, Market risks and Operational risks in SGLB perimeter;
- to provide relevant information for SGLB Management to allocate group-wide risk appetite to Business Units operating from SGLB;
- to accompany the Business Units operating from SGLB in sound strategy;
- to define SGLB local risk policies and processes when required (significant specificity or regulatory requirement).
The RISQ department within SGLB is composed of 5 teams:
- RISQ/ERM/PSR: in charge of credit risk assessment and validation, portfolio analysis and reporting
- RISQ/RMA: in charge of risks on market activities, including Credit Counterparty Risk on Hedge Funds
- RISQ/OPE and CTL: in charge of operational risks, including supervision of outsourced risk processes
-RISQ/ERM/TRS: providing support for oversight of all risks (as monitored by RISQ) and of analysing the SGLB and SGIL’s risk.
- RISQ/COO: providing transversal support, reporting and monitoring risks inherent to the Department
