Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

The senior auditor can lead or participate to different missions covering any or all the following:

  • Global markets activities from Front to Back;
  • Risk management teams (second line of defense);
  • Compliance to markets related regulations.
  • The senior auditor would have the opportunity to cover various and diverse activities and topics across the above spectrum.
  • When he/she is the Head of Assignment, the senior auditor:
  • is the main interlocutor of the heads of the audited department(s) and ensures, all through the assignment, a good communication with auditees (progression of the assignment, observations and difficulties met);
  • elaborates the diagnosis by interviewing the teams and stakeholders concerned by the audit, obtaining any relevant data, performing selective analysis of risky areas;
  • allocates tasks within the team members assigned to him/her according to the budget and timeline granted to him/her;
  • performs his/her own audit controls (if any) and follows up the progression of his/her team members’ work according to the methodology he/she would have pre-defined in concertation with the team and supervisor;
  • is in charge of writing the assignment report with the help of the team members;
  • coordinates the preparation and presentation of conclusions and recommendations (by ensuring that deliverables are clear) to the heads of the audited department;
  • is responsible for assigning the recommendations issued by the assignment to the different team members;
  • controls the filing of work files by the team and ensures their correct formalization;
  • globally assesses the audited entity and the awareness to risks of the management (and notably identifies topics previously identified by auditees).

More globally, the senior auditor can contribute to some transversal works such as improving/automating audit processes, designing new innovative audit technics, finally, enriching and updating the audit methodology.

He/she has, as part of the objectives assigned by his/her supervisor, the required autonomy for organizing and leading his/her works. If necessary, he/she solicits his supervisor, notably to deal with difficulties met or exercise his/her whistle blowing.

Under the supervisor’s guidance, the senior auditor has large autonomy for achieving assignments assigned to him/her.

When the senior auditor leads an assignment as “Head of assignment”, he/she is responsible for the good progression of the assignment.

Profile required

  • Experience in global markets activities or in risk management with good understanding of market and/or credit risks metrics;
  • Familiarity with rules and regulations applicable to global markets activities;
  • Rigor, reliability and tenacity;
  • Critical mind and curiosity;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication;
  • Team spirit;
  • Strong prioritization, organizational and time management skills Strong analytical skills;
  • High interest in data analytics and innovations;
  • Plus: Coding skills in one or more of these languages: Python, R, C++, Matlab, Excel VBA, Access/SQL, Perl, SAS, Latex, Kdb+/q, Java.

Department Description

The Inspection and Audit Division of the Societe Generale Group gathers Audit and General Inspection teams.

The main assignment of the Audit is to assess, as part of an objective, rigorous and impartial approach, the compliance of operations, the actually incurred risk level, the respect of procedures as well as the efficiency and appropriateness of the permanent control system.
The senior auditor can, as “Head of assignment”, lead audit assignments or participate in the assignment by bringing his expertise.
