  • Oversee a bank regulatory compliance framework that includes overall risk management governance framework, a formal compliance risk-and-control framework, regulatory risk assessments, bank regulatory policies, control procedures, surveillance of transactions covered under specific regulations, and training related to specific regulations. Specifically, the Senior Bank Regulatory Compliance Officer will be responsible for the following:
  • Manage and maintain a compliance program for US state and federal banking rules impacting SG’s US operations and activities, including certain transversal programs such as Regulation K, Regulation W and Mandatory Absence
  • Act as point of contact for relevant banking rules with the business; engage directly with senior management on bank regulations and bank regulatory matters
  • Leverage expertise in providing compliance advice directly to businesses and senior management on applicability of banking rules to transactions, structures or business activities; and provide advice on development of internal controls and procedures
  • Overseeing Compliance department efforts and obligations with respect to other banking regulations and guidance such as, among others, those relating to anti-tying, Regulation YY and applicable SR letters
  • Coordinating bank regulatory Compliance programs for Cayman Branch activities
  • Reviewing and updating as appropriate bank regulatory compliance policies and related compliance and other department procedures on cyclical basis
  • Participating in compliance training program as subject matter expert by drafting appropriate training materials and conducting trainings as required
  • In coordination with Compliance surveillance team, reviewing surveillance and other control reports and developing or enhancing controls where needed
  • Participating in annual and ad hoc risk assessment exercises
  • Participating in Firm committees as bank regulatory compliance subject matter expert
  • Supervise more junior bank regulatory compliance personnel

Technical Skills & Knowledge:

  • In-depth knowledge of US banking regulations
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Qualifications (Experience, Education, Languages):

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Advanced degree, such as JD or MBA, preferred

  • Compliance with laws, rules and ethical principles specific to banking activities and investment services undertaken by the firm, as well as compliance with staff members' personal rules of good conduct and ethics; 
  • Awareness-raising and training of all players in preventing non-compliance and reputational risks.

Within a robust governance and risk management framework the Compliance Department provides expertise in Business Advisory, Financial Crime prevention, Banking, Securities and other applicable regulations, communications and trade surveillance, Second Line testing and monitoring and compliance risk assessment. As part of a global financial institution providing services across the globe, we also cooperate closely on a daily basis with our Head-Office and global affiliates to ensure compliance with the regulations in the countries where we operate and to address cross-border regulatory matters.
