CPLE or Compliance unit in SG GSC support the global Compliance function at Société Générale. The team has presence in offshore/nearshore locations in India, Romania, Montreal and Morocco.

The team is responsible to manage deliveries across Anti money laundering, Sanctions and Embargoes, Capital Markets Surveillance, Personal Account Dealing, Significant Shareholding Disclosures and other operations while also contributing to programs on KYC transformation, Sanctions, Platform transformation etc.

The COO team (Chief Operating Office) reports to the COO and Head of Strategy for the GSC construct for CPLE. The team is involved in transversal topics for CPLE including (but not limited to) Transformation projects, Transitions, Governance, Budgeting and liaison with finance, Headcount management, Management support, Reporting, Strategic initiatives and Data analysis

Primary Responsibilities 

Transitions Project Management

  • Coordinate with internal resources and onshore partners for the flawless execution of projects and other business deliverables
  • Aligned to the business delivery roadmap, lead Transitions engagements end to end, while ensuring strong governance and transparent follow-up of progress
  • Produce all collaterals, analysis, minutes etc. as needed to provide right visibility and control on the progress
  • Establish governance mechanisms with transitions managers in GSC construct to ensure best practice sharing, alignment and collaboration

Transformation Project Management

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Be proactive in proposing avenues for process and workflow improvement – leveraging all levers including automation, renunciation, transformation and re-engineering. Collaborate closely with other project managers in the construct
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Develop a detailed project plan, presentations and trackers to monitor and track progress. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed. Approach with solutions and collaborate to realize them
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Meet budgetary objectives and adjust project constraints based on financial analysis

Supporting global COO construct

  • Produce presentations for management as per the evolving business requirements. Be able to vary the presentation basis audience, focus and messaging
  • Be able to analyze data to produce meaningful insights. Source the right data working with partners across CPLE, GSC and beyond
  • Lead communications management – produce banners, collaterals and communication to be shared with staff basis the various engagements and transversal initiatives
  • Provide support to prepare for governance with global stakeholders. Contribute to data gathering, data summarization and presentation. Work with stakeholders to get the right information, with quality and on time
  • Be ready to provide Ad-hoc support as per basis needs – including analysis and delivering high impact presentations

Profile required

Experience – 10+ years 

Additional Specific Role Requirements: 

  • Good understanding of Business Analysis and Project Management methodologies
  • Proven abilities in conflict management, influencing and negotiating skills along with the ability to lead or manage stakeholders effectively
  • Strong presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Bachelor's / Masters / MBA Degree
  • Knowledge of Compliance and Financial Services is a plus
  • Agile / PMP / PRINCE II certification is desirable but not mandatory

Technical Competencies: 

  • Strong in MS Excel and PowerPoint

Other tools and techniques:

  • Data Visualization (PowerBI, Tableau) will be a plus


  • Very strong Customer empathy. Being able to support stakeholders to solve their problems
  • Good Verbal and Written Communication skills. Be able to simplify complex subjects, ability to summary and vary delivery based on receptivity and stakeholder preferences
  • A problem solver – able to tackle complex situations and tight deadlines to collaborate to get things done
  • Be able to summarize information and present as per needs to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time. Be able to multi-task and load balance as per evolving business needs
  • Proven self-management, negotiation and team-management skills
    • Capability to make decisions under pressure and tight timelines
