Day-to-Day Responsibilities: 
Primary responsibility includes driving all aspects of complex cross functional projects and programs aligned to industry leading PM practices. The PM must be comfortable building action plans from strategic requirements, challenging stakeholders on risk, plans and strategy, and adding value as an engaged member of the team. The capacity to manage 3rd party consultants and junior team members is expected. Interaction with European project teams may be required, depending on the scope and scale of the program.

Experience in financial services with a strong preference for capital markets and investment banking background is preferred with additional direct experience in a tightly controlled and regulated business environment. Fluency in corporate technology process, but not necessarily the SDLC is a big plus.  

  • Provide elite and forensic program management to key strategic programs, enabling their successful & timely completion

  • Improve project execution risk management / Standardize key aspects of the PM methodology  /  Improve value realization

  • Build and maintain complete and effective action plans, incorporating requisite change management process

  • Design, implement and manage strong program governance

  • Be an effective communicator at all levels of the organization

  • Drive accountability for quality and timeliness across stakeholders

  • Provide effective, timely and objective challenge to plans, risk mitigation and strategy

  • Employ appropriate program processes, procedures, methods and standards for program delivery; Ensure adherence to SG’s control expectations

  • Coach team members

  • Identify opportunities to collaborate and create synergies within and across teams

  • Assist in developing a ‘best in class’ PM organization; Standardize key aspects of the PM methodology and share best practices

  • Consult widely during decision making

  • Champion a climate of mutual respect

  • Challenge existing ways of doing things; Promote innovation

  • Build strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders

  • Effectively communicate and escalate, when necessary

  • Foster a culture of compliance to all relevant rules and regulations

Profile required

Technical Skills:    
•    Technical proficiencies in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Exemplary written and oral communication skills

•    Demonstrated ability to independently lead programs
•    Manage initiatives through the full project lifecycle, from strategy conception through rollout and ongoing support 
•    Ability to define and establish a robust program governance structure  
•    Knowledge of the roles of the three lines of defense
•    Excellent influencing, facilitation, and partnering skills 
•    Comfort interfacing with Senior Management 
•    Analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal, communication, and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

Experience Needed:
•    8+ years’ experience in successfully managing complex projects and programs 
•    At least 5 years’ experience in genuine Program Management during which one has successfully applied a structured approach (methodology) to the management, tracking, planning, monitoring and reporting of concurrent, multiple financial services projects
•    Financial services or consulting experience is strongly preferred

Educational Requirements:
•    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in financial services business.
•    PMP Cerfification a plus

The central Americas Program Management team within the Global Business Service Unit (GBSU/PMO) has a mission to enable our program stakeholders to enact effective change, prioritize program investments aligned to their strategic goals, and minimize program execution risk to the firm. More precisely, the program management team provides elite program management support to strategic AMER programs, demonstrate an improvement in program management capability in the region through improved project execution risk management, standardizing key aspects of the PM methodology and improved value realization. The team reports to the Chief Operating Officer and has a portfolio scope across front, middle and back office departments for critical change the bank initiatives.
