ABOUT THE JOB:
Independent from the Business Lines, the Risk Management (RISQ) Division's mission is to contribute to the development of the SG Group's activity while maintaining independent oversight through risk evaluation and monitoring. The RISQ Division supports all the activities in the Americas Region (US, Canada, and Latin America), which is almost exclusively corporate and investment banking (GBIS) oriented.
Since 2016, the AMER region is leading a Governance, Risk management & Compliance (GRC) program which aim to:
· Provide a harmonized and automated way to collect, exploit and monitor risks, controls, and compliance data in AMER.
· Offer the ability to integrate and aggregate data across all frameworks and disciplines in the firm to enable prompt and accurate decisions; governance of processes and ensure compliance with laws and regulatory
The GRC Business Coordinator position is based in Montreal and will report to the GRC program manager within the RISQ Divisions - Chief Operating Officer (COO) team in New York. In that role, the GRC Business Coordinator will assist in implementing the GRC program in AMER, writing business requirements and ensuring quality of data & reporting.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
The primary responsibilities are to:
Assist in managing new GRC program initiatives:
· Assist in the launch of risk management program initiatives through communication and coordination with various stakeholders in the bank (1st and 2nd lines of defense).
· Hold walkthrough sessions with key stakeholders to gain an understanding of the current process as well as the future state methodology, process flow and reporting for risk identification, assessment, monitoring and remediation.
· Discuss draft design approach and deployment plan with key stakeholders for review, feedback, and approval.
· Escalate challenges in implementation and propose solutions for harmonization and successful delivery.
Write business requirements:
· Enhance methodology documents with sufficient information to enable full understanding of business needs and to write user stories. This will require proficiency in interviewing skills, workflow analysis, dataflow diagramming, and sometimes screen design, etc.
· Write full blown user stories and acceptance criteria for each of the core workstreams (risk assessment, control monitoring and metrics automation) .
· Review user stories with the development team for completeness, to increase clarity as well as reducing assumptions and future issues, etc.
· Clarify any questions from the development team and update the user stories accordingly.
Ensure quality and consistency of data and reporting:
· Promote GRC vision to all stakeholders reinforcing the need for harmonization of taxonomy, process, and methodology as well as aggregation and reporting ability.
· Work closely with the RISQ and technology teams to identify data quality & reporting issues.
· Coordinate enhancement of data accuracy, integrity, timeliness, and adaptability across all key stakeholders and create monitoring controls to prevent reoccurrence.

Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
· Proficiency with Excel, Word, Microsoft Power Point and Visio
· Knowledge of RSA Archer GRC platform is a plus
· Knowledge of BI solutions is a plus – (MicroStrategy, PowerBI)
· Knowledge of Software Development Life cycle procedures using Agile methodology is a plus
Competencies:
· Great knowledge of Financial and non-Financial Risks including Operational risks
· Experience in banking industry and understanding of key metrics
· Knowledge of risk management frameworks, specifically around risk assessment, issues management, control monitoring and metrics.
· Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with business and technology teams to guarantee timely and quality delivery.
· Ability to influence and encourage common methodology, common referential and common reporting.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to successfully interact at all levels of the organization.
· Sound problem solving, reasoning and business judgment, solid analytical skills, and ability to identify issues and propose solutions.
· Ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize projects to meet time-sensitive deadlines and follow up with stakeholders.
· Team-oriented and adaptable to changing environment/demands. Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
· Agile certification is a plus.
Experience Needed:
· Previous significant experience either as a senior risk manager, senior data analyst or a senior business analyst in an investment banking environment (5 years).
· Previous experience working on a GRC program is a plus.
Educational Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, or related field of study.
Languages: French, English
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
