Senior Salesperson (China Agency/Energy)

Responsibilities

Use strong communications skills (speaking, reading and writing) to maintain and grow U.S. and Chinese listed agency energy desk’s clearing and execution business. Ensure the general sales team clears and executes listed energy contracts and prepares reports to monitor client and market activity, client interaction, quantitative market analysis, operational support and client account administration. Ensure sales team member’s compliance with all applicable regulations and internal policies and procedures, section 13 of the Bank Holding Company Act and section 619 of Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer protection Act. ("Volcker Rule") and with no. 2013-672 as of 26 July 2013 on Separation and Regulation of Banking Activity (French Banking Law). Ensure sales team member’s compliance with FBL/Volcker laws requirements in the performance duties as delineated in handbooks. Operate in conformance with the mandate and in compliance with the SG procedures established for the enforcement of the French Banking Law compliance and the Volcker Rule. Manage positions of the sales team by conducting sound and effective risk management to ensure the achievement of business objectives.


Profile Required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Economics, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, plus 2 years of professional experience working at a global financial institution working with clients in the U.S. and China relating to energy sales and the trading of energy products (including WTI Crude oil, Brent Crude Oil, Distillate, Gasoline (RBOB), Natural Gas and all associated derivatives related to these products), applying rules and regulations governing the trading of energy contracts (including French Banking Law and Volcker Rule) and performing economic and financial analysis (including probability, financial modelling and option theory) to interpret fundamental factors impacting the energy markets (including supply and demand, impact of financial markets on prices (interest rates and currency fluctuations) and geopolitical impacts. Must also have the following: 2 years of professional experience analyzing in-depth market reports and performing technical analysis to discuss findings with clients in the U.S. and China; 2 years of professional experience working with energy sales and the trading of energy products including the futures markets, the clearing process, and electronic order entry; 2 years of professional experience using VBA and Excel Macros.
