Société Générale Americas Sourcing Department supports the overall goals of the Société Générale Global Sourcing Department in Paris of reducing and controlling SG’s cost structure and mitigating commercial and legal contractual risks within the United States. This role is responsible for evaluating business requirement, leveraging the market place for best available financial and service offerings, negotiate and execute contracts.
This role for a Senior Sourcing Specialist requires a skilled, experienced sourcing professional with general knowledge of the Financial Industry with expertise within the IT Software and related spend (particularly with the variety of software licensing models including SaaS type structures – AWS, Azure etc…), as well as IT Professional services, sound knowledge of contractual provisions and structure, excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills.
A strong candidate will be able to evidence that they have successfully managed and negotiated complex software agreements with suppliers in which they ensured market best practices are adhered to with regards to prolonged license cost and compliance, ongoing maintenance cost and service quality, implementation assurances (acceptance) and overall flexibility (term and termination), as well as, included protective contractual conditions (including, to some degree, legal types of provisions) to mitigate risk. Additionally, the individual is required to have strong communication and interpersonal skills (provide relevant and clear management communication).
