Senior SQL Developer - Equities Trading Middle Office
Responsibilities
We are seeking an exceptional Senior SQL Developer with expertise in Equities Trading Middle Office systems to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and maintaining our SQL databases, collaborate closely with business users to enhance system functionality, and resolve production issues promptly. The ideal candidate will possess advanced SQL skills, a deep understanding of Equities Trading Middle Office operations, and a strong aptitude for learning and adapting to new technologies and business domains.
Responsibilities:
· Utilize expert-level SQL skills to design, optimize, and maintain databases supporting Equities Trading Middle Office operations.
· Perform performance tuning and query optimization to ensure optimal database performance and responsiveness.
· Collaborate with business users to understand system requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
· Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement system enhancements and new features, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
· Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in a timely manner, minimizing downtime and impact on business operations.
· Actively participate in DevOps practices, including continuous integration, deployment automation, and infrastructure as code.
· Utilize Visual Studio Source control to manage code repositories and ensure version control and collaboration among development team members.
· Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in SQL development, Equities Trading Middle Office operations, and DevOps methodologies.
Profile required
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
· 5+ years of experience as a SQL Developer, with a demonstrated track record of success in performance tuning and query optimization.
· Strong aptitude for learning and understanding new business domains and technologies.
· Proven experience working closely with business users to gather requirements, prioritize enhancements, and troubleshoot issues.
· Familiarity with Visual Studio Source control or similar version control systems.
· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders across different functional areas.
Preferred Qualifications
· In-depth understanding of Equities Trading, including trade lifecycle, settlement, and risk management processes.
· Proficiency in DevOps practices and tools, with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure management.
· Advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
