Service Continuity Analyst

Day to day responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Assist in the planning, coordination and development of recovery exercises and associated test plans – considering facilities, staff, technology, internal and external dependencies.
  • Knowledge in disaster avoidance and control strategies.
  • Work with various groups within Societe Generale to support the Business Recovery seating locations across the US, Canada and Brazil.
  • Assist with other resources for the successful resumption of business operations in the event of a disaster.
  • Assist the efforts of staff members in different functional areas during a crisis situation.
  • Assist with testing of the Business Recovery seating locations.
  • Work with the Business Continuity Planners on BIA’s and BCP’s and coordinate the testing of recovery support and business resumption procedures in different functional areas.
  • During a declaration, assists recovery support and business resumption staff in the implementation of response and alternate operating strategies.  May act as the coordinator during emergency situations.
  • Assist with management to ensure Disaster Recovery issues are addressed as new equipment, facilities, services and systems are installed.
  • Maintains contact with outside contingency planning professional organizations and local/regional emergency response groups.
  • Will assist the Director of SCM with the fulfillment of auditing requirements.
  • SCM Personnel are expected to be on call 24X7.

Profile Required

  • Results-oriented, with demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills


  • Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)


  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery planning and coordination


  • CBCP certification

The Service Continuity Management (SCM) Analyst role is responsible for assisting in the development, research, analytical solutions, and reporting in support of the business continuity and IT disaster recovery program.  This role is responsible for working directly across multiple teams, management levels, disciplines, technologies, and business groups.


Disaster Recovery Planning is used to ensure that business operations continue after a disruption to the workplace, such as severe weather, fire, technology outage, transportation disruptions, etc.
