Sourcing Manager, Vice President

Responsibilities : 

Lead the standard Sourcing process on the assigned categories: from market research, understanding of the internal client’s and the business requirements, followed by RFP process and contract implementation

• Achieve category cost improvement targets through price negotiations. This would require analysis of complex supplier proposals and use decision-making tools and models, including financial and non-financial criteria, to facilitate award recommendations

• Collaborate with internal clients ensuring compliance with Group standards and maintain a culture and practice of highest ethical standards and behavior

• Produce management reporting to monitor the sourcing performance and to follow-up the project pipeline

• Ensure appropriate collaboration with the Societe Generale Group Sourcing division in Paris and cooperation within the international sourcing framework use of all SG Group Sourcing tools in line with the Societe Generale Group and Regional Sourcing Policy

• Participate in various transformation projects

• Occasional travel may be required and other duties outside of the above may be requested on an ad-hoc basis

Profile required


  • University Bachelor’s Degree is a must
  • 10+ years’ experience in Sourcing / Vendor Management and ideally from Banking industry
  • Strategic sourcing vision
  • Strong knowledge in Asia market benchmark and local regulatory requirements
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellency in communication skills; fluent in English language skills and Chinese (Mandarin) is an advantage  
  • Operating knowledge of e-Sourcing tool would be a significant plus
  • Proven track records of cost saving negotiation (commercials and contract) on big tickets
  • Good coordination skills and project management 
  • Extensive knowledge of legal clauses and be able to negotiate contract terms
  • Be able to work under pressure plus self-starter

Department Description
As part of the COOA department, the Sourcing Manager will manage the purchase of the assigned categories and key priorities in Asia, to ensure that the needs of the business are met in terms of operational requirements, cost savings, risk mitigation and innovation. 
The Sourcing Department covers all of the following procurement categories, plus transversal projects:
Real Estate:  
•    Premises projects (Real Estate Agents, PM and Designer, Contractors, MEP, Furniture)
•    Facility Management: soft services and maintenance
•    Telecom
•    Software
•    IT equipment
•    IT services providers and consulting

Non IT Services:  
•    Marketing and communication
•    Professional services (training, legal, recruitment, temporary work)

The successful candidate will ensure the SG’s Sourcing processes is observed and contribute to the yearly savings targets. You will work closely with the stakeholders across SG entities in Asia Pacific Region including local Heads and COOs, will also work with the SG Group Sourcing Division members from the Head office in France.
