Role Dimensions and Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities

  • Performing daily system monitoring (CPU/STORAGE etc.)
  • CI/CD maintenance, support, validation and ensuring respect of standards and good practices.
  • Analyzing, correcting and improving issues on infrastructure.
  • Depending on projects, installing new VM: creation, installation, security, network communication.
  • Maintenance and evolution of the monitoring stack.
  • Helping the dev team on every subject that are related to infrastructure, network and security even on big data perimeter.

Desired Knowledge, Experience and Capabilities:

  • Good hands on knowledge of CI/CD tools.
  • Advanced Linux/Windows OS commands.
  • Able to debug infrastructure issues on their own.
  • Independently setup automated testing tools in the CI pipeline.
  • Write scripts for automating routine maintenance tasks.
  • Intermediate knowledge on cloud platform and tools to do automated deployment on cloud.
  • Python scripting (good to know/nice to have).
  • Provide impact analysis for requirements.
  • Provide independent estimates for requirements.
  • Implement new technologies.
  • Independently communicate with stakeholders to get things done.
  • Independently setup 1 or more monitoring tools to check the stability and health of the system.

Implementation Strategy and Support

  • Execution as per implementation timelines, scope & costs without any cost, effort or schedule overruns, as per defined and agreed SLAs.
  • Help team members in solving their DevOps related issues.
  • Execute best practices and processes (ITIL) on production support activities.

 

Sphere of influence within the organization

The is an individual contributor role within SocGen’s Global Solution Centre in India with extensive interaction including day to day business direction coming from the onsite project and business teams, primarily in Paris, France.

Expected sphere of influence and collaboration is expected to be immediate team. Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner in spoken and written business language.


Profile Required


Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • 4-6 years of professional experience in a software development environment primarily in a DevOps role.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology

Key Technical Skills:

  • CI/CD (Ansible, AWX, Jenkins, GIT)
  • Strong in Unix administration.
  • Good knowledge on shell scripting.
  • Good knowledge on Security (firewall/SSL/encryption key management)
  • Good knowledge on Infrastructure, server, VM, Cloud.
  • Basic awareness of Network communications.
  • Good to know python scripting.
  • Optional: Big data ecosystem.
  • Basic knowledge on ELK stack.

TOOLS: Ansible, AWX, Jenkins, GIT
