Specialist Software Engineer - Java

Responsibilities

  • Individual Contributor

  • Understand functional requirements and raise clarifications with BAs and others concerned

  • Capability to provide technical design and implement on complex requirement

  •  Build reusable code and libraries for future use

  • Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability

  • Understand Agile practices (daily scrum, iteration planning, retrospective, test driven) and follow the same

  • Hands on Coding, Unit Testing and Automated Testing

  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

  • Should be able to estimate from high level requirement and do an independent estimate from detailed functional specification

  • Meticulously review the design, test cases and code

  • Participation in all chapter / community events on DATA

Profile required

  • Require 3 -5 years experience

  • Expertise in Core Java and Java Spring

  • Expertise in writing automated tests in Java

  • Strong understanding of software craftmanship practices

  • Should have working  experience CI and CD set up and tools involved ( prefer Jenkin tools)

  • Good to have basic SQL knowledge

  • Knowledge on Public Cloud is added advantage

  • Strong problem solving and debugging skills

  • Good exposure to Agile environment with TDD exposure

  • Interest and keenness to learn new technologies and apply them in the work

  • The ideal candidate for this position will have a very strong understanding of software development focusing on delivering a software product with high code quality

  • Experience in creating enhancing and executing unit tests using test driven approach, automated testing, Agile methodology
