Specialist Systems Engineer-MQ/RMQ

Responsibilities

IBM WMQ Product installation, good understanding of OS prerequisites (Linux/AIX) and best practices

Load balancing on MQ cluster architecture.

Trouble-shooting of all WMQ infrastructure related issues for all topologies.

Security exits and SSL certificate management for MQ for existing and new application environment.

Configuration changes on existing application environments to resolve/fix incidents and problem management tasks.

Troubleshooting any technical issues related to application hosting infrastructure across DEV, UAT and Production environments.

Profile required

Essential Technical skills & Overall Expectations (candidate with experience between 7-10 yrs)

  1. Administrative Knowledge with practical hands-on of IBM WMQ on multiple platforms such as UNIX, Solaris, Linux in production support and surrounding tools along with ITIL processes.
  2. Core competencies: IBM MQ Series V7,0, 7.5, 8.0, 9.0 - DQM, Clustered and Pub-Sub setups/topology etc.
  3. Knowledge of MQ on backup and recovery procedures of the MQ objects/messages. High availability (HA) features.
  4. Basic UNIX shell scripting skills for MQ administration and Support activities. Be aware of the ongoing infrastructure issues and vigilant to avoid / minimize downtime of services .
  5. Good knowledge on Rabbit MQ/EMS and Python.
  6. Good knowledge on MQ monitoring tools such as Nastel, QPASA. MQ explorer and IR360.
