Splecialist System Engineer AIX

Responsibilities

Monitor, triage & troubleshoot, Install, upgrade, maintain and support AIX infrastructure

Maintain and support services/applications under AIX team responsibility

Monitor the AIX infrastructure and take proactive actions when needed

Contribute to document and review standards and operational procedures

Enforce technical and security standards for AIX infrastructures and services

Follow internal processes at all time (ITIL, time tracking, escalation ...)

Work closely with peers worldwide by taking part in periodic meetings and sharing knowledge

Act as project manager for AIX infrastructures projects by providing regular follow-up on schedule, budget and issues.

Participate in maintenance, weekend shifts and on duty

Profile Required


Mandatory:

6+ Years of experience in AIX (Not other flavors of Unix)

Hands-on experience on

AIX 7.1, 6.1, 5.3

VIOS22.x Installation

AIX OS upgrade, OS Patching/Migration, PowerHA Upgrades, storage migration

Update and administration of VIOS, like disk mappings, exposure to SEA, storage pools, Shared processor pools, VSCSI,

NPIV etc. (Advantage to have knowledge on PureFlex Systems)

Performance management on AIX

Installation / Migration of PowerHA

Incident management on powerHA (at least 5 to 10 years experience)

Micro partitioning concepts

User administration and LVM Concepts

Storage management and backup technologies

Networking concepts in AIX (Ether channel configuration, Virtual Ethernet etc.)

Creation of LPARs via HMC and installation of OS

Shell scripting (Python and/or Ansible skills are preferred)

WLM, DLPAR, TCB etc.
