Base Salary Range: $135,000 - $400,000

Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.

Facilitation of client transactions in Foreign Exchange OTC, Cash, NDF, G10 & EM trading, FX Futures EFP, EFRP and Block transactions.  In addition, keep customers updated on market news and views. This position is primarily Sales Focused with onboarding new business while managing existing & new relationships.

  • Sales experience – Sourcing and onboarding new client business activity, - Networking with Asset managers, Hedge Funds, CTA  & corporate clients to build and develop the client base.
  • Sales Development – Growing the FX Franchise by increasing our active client base.
  • G10 FX Risk management experience – 7 years risk management skillset required.
  • EM & NDF execution experience – thorough knowledge of market depth / risk management & full scope of FX products for execution.
  • Onshore Deliverable FX product scope – thorough knowledge of the local regulations.
  • FX Futures Transactions, risk management – clear understanding of SGX, CME, ICE & EUREX FX Futures execution and Market making rules / regulations.
  • Prime Brokerage experience, understanding & respecting the rules which segregate the execution platform from a PB network in terms of client confidentiality.
  • Electronic trading coverage – understanding the EFX offer, liquidity management, Algo trading experience.
  • Clear knowledge of the FX Code of Conduct.   
  • Being able to service customer accounts through both sales & transactional flow on a daily basis.
  • Pitch trade ideas, have market insight regarding economic fundamentals, trade flow ideas, hedging strategies.
  • Manage the foreign exchange risks and maximise the profits by effectively managing flows by being an intermediary with the trade desk within predefined limits and to provide markets in the full range of desk products
  • Be aware of the many different clients various trading styles and try to cater to this as much as possible when dealing with them on a day to day basis (i.e. best execution)
  • Responsibility for ensuring that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal Policies that relate to you, your business or other businesses for which you have any level of responsibility.  It is your responsibility to ensure compliance with operational risk requirements (e.g. Golden rules, security policies and regulatory requirements). 
  • Responsibility for managing, controlling, preparing and escalating risk within the scope of your position.
  • Responsibility for reading, understanding and complying with the Company’s Conduct and Standards and corresponding regulations. You will be notified of changes to policies in a timely manner through announcements and/or intranet updates.
  • Act with integrity and due skill, care and diligence in carrying out your duties. Your actions should always be able to satisfy high standards of scrutiny.
  • Observe proper standards of market conduct.  Responsibility to ensure that you take reasonable steps to be fully aware of, understand and comply with all regulatory requirements from all regulatory bodies that are applicable to your business.
  • Have a full understanding of market liquidity & depth across all FX products.  Being able to manage orders on behalf of clients and fully understanding the market risk involved.
  • Ascertain the best method for liquidity access (spot/forward/EFP). This is accomplished by using information from the electronic trading platforms (EBS, Reuters 3000) and speaking with banks (discussing liquidity, pricing, and time frames.) A determination must be then be made by the trader on which bank to execute with and which currency (some banks can only do smaller size.)
  • Keep abreast of market news as well as keep customers informed of same (by reading Reuters, Kobra, and Bloomberg). – understanding the impact of such financial news & economic data and the impact it will have on the market.
  • Manage liquidity with our inter-bank counterparts (decide which banks can handle the volume and which traders will provide the best price).
  • Monitor EFP Fx Futures book positions. Monitor spreads between EFP and cash foreign exchange equivalent. This results in P&L fix. (Takes 6 months to learn this skill.)
  • Check and balance customer accounts.
  • Trade input – fluent understanding of the SG X-One booking system.
  • Reconcile trade sheets at end of shift. – fluent understanding of SG System Risk-One.
  • Entertain clients and other new business opportunities

Profile required

  • Basic knowledge of macro-economics, political developments, and market liquidity conditions.
  • Knowledge of foreign exchange markets and it's conventions
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, outlook, Bloomberg, reuters eikon, EBS, Reuters Dealing, Single dealer FX platforms, aggregation platforms, SG Markets, X-One, 360T, Currenex, order management systems, Trader tools systems.
  • Ability to understand economic, political and market changes and develop a strategy for trade execution.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be available for entertainment with clients and/or office visit travel
  • 7 Years previous experience
  • BA / BS or equivalent
  • Fundamental economic analysis and some technical analysis capability and make decisions on that data.
  • Ability to assess client's need relative to available projects and services.
  • Understanding of sales process from sourcing prospects to closing the sale and customer follow-up
  • Foreign Language skills helpful
