Sr Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Agile team key player focus on Bank Regulatory Reporting systems /software (including bank data repository) and involving an end to end software life-cycle management & supporting.
  • Responsible for bank data repository / data modeling / regulatory data mart maintenance and related project: lead demand analysis, design and development, testing and commissioning of platform system in data to ensure project quality.
  • Within REG/IT scope, lead and define Agile EPIC/Sprint/Story – in terms of regulation project scopes and objectives by involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility. Develop a vision of final product or deliverables and build a detailed project plan & evaluate the progress of Agile project on regular basis (in line with Regulation requirements / milestone)
  • Participates to the regular release control on behalf of REG/IT and deploy the new changes in production by following the standard procedure with good quality
  • Monitor APP performance (e.g. EOD/EOM/EOY process of the bank) and provide an efficient prod issue fixing or escalation. Monitors systems by using the information system’s monitoring tools
  • Estimates the risks and opportunities in our day-to-day job and take initiatives to reduce the risks and improve our efficiency. Provides support to other peers when necessary and train the new joiners on the perimeter.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors and manages and co-ordinate with outsourcing maintenance vendors/providers on related issues and software deliveries.
  • Works closely with regional REG / IT team to make sure the global policy is well applied in China.
  • Other ad hoc tasks / relevant responsibilities as assigned from the Management / Internal auditor or triggered by standard Risk and outsourcing/sourcing control procedures

Profile required

Academic  Background (degree and major)

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in business, Information technology, finance

Working Experience /Technical Skills & Know how

  • Over 7years experience in major banks or consulting company on banking sector

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of data architecture design/model, data management, data governance especially on China Reg reporting data is a plus
  • Solid knowledge of banking product / business / processes and processes description methodology
  • Ability to understand the needs of the end users in banking context and solve routine problems independently
  • Good analytical skill and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team work spirit
  • Ability to understand organization’s goal and priorities
  • Project management skills is plus

Language Skills

  • Fluent in English and Mandarin, documentation and deliverables to be drafted both in English or Chinese.

Computer Skill

  • Proficient in SQL, python, Java, shell, Scala and other development languages
  • Proficient in database (Oracle, PostgreSQL, Sqlserver, e.g.), experience on data modelling and sensitive to data, good communication and coordination skills, logical thinking skills and product execution
  • Good knowledge and skill on OS (Linux, AIX and Widows), middleware and popular cluster systems, such as SQL server Mirror, AIX HACMP, Oracle Dataguard.
  • Understand BS/CS structure and general webservice, tomcat and java. ETL tool is better.
