Responsibilities :

Associate Level position within a team of 3.

I.    Analysis & Advisory: Financial and strategic steering of the APAC region

  • Responsible for the deliverables related to the strategic and financial performance steering of the Asia Business Unit for Senior Management of the Region and the Group. This task is performed in close cooperation with the Business & Support Function finance controllers in Hong Kong and the offshore service center.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial management reporting including gap analysis 
  • Analyze key P&L revenues/expenses drivers, areas for growth and synergies across the Business Lines and the Support Functions
  • Provide financial data, trend reporting and analysis.
  • Participate in transversal exercises such as annual budgeting, strategic reviews, financial modelling of GBIS Asia financial trajectory and benchmark/competition analysis.
  • Production of country/entity level reports to help CFOs and local senior management to steer their performance
  • Participate in ad-hoc business/financial studies (e.g. profitability analysis, normalized profit, cost allocation, etc.) on behalf of DFIN/ASI/DIR
  • Develop in-depth understanding of transversal processes and information systems related to financial management and become a recognized point of contact.

II.    Projects: Digital transformation and processes optimization

  • Take the lead on small projects to add value to the end users of our analysis
  • Continuous enhancement of transversal deliverables (e.g. regional or country performance analysis) adapting to the evolution of the regional governance and/or business needs
  • Act as expert to continuously improve existing deliverables with solutions including digitalization, Automation, off-shoring, and to follow-up its implementation with global DFIN teams
  • Participate in the implementation of Digital Dashboards.

This position represents a great opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of the bank’s businesses and organization. Through the numerous interactions with the management of DFIN and business partners, the incumbent will steadily gain visibility across the board.

Profile required

Profile Requirements:

  • Bachelor or master’s Degree in Finance
  • Approx. 3-5 years’ relevant working experience in Finance/Banking industry
  • Strong synthesis, analytical and finance skills with developed attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt and communicate effectively across all levels in a multicultural environment
  • Excellent organizational skills and autonomy
  • Think critically, challenge accepted processes and suggest alternative solutions
  • Appetite for deepening the knowledge of the financial markets, banking industry and understanding the business activities. An existing solid knowledge would be a plus
  • Fluency in English
  • Technical Skills: MS Excel and PowerPoint; with desired/bonus skills in Essbase, VBA & Power BI

Department Description

The Strategic Financial Planning (PFS) department is the sole provider of actionable financial reports and analysis to assist SG management in steering the financial performance of the Asia region. It measures and analyzes the profitability of the activities portfolio and the optimization of resources. The team ensures the necessary support and the right level of expertise to the business partners, and the management of the Asia Business Unit.

The Synthesis team (PFS/SYN) consolidates the financials for management reporting, leads the Asia budget process, leads the annual Asia strategic review, prepares forecasts, produces financial trend analysis, analyzes Asia BU costs, contributes to the monthly closings, ensures alignment with norms around performance management analyzes and presents the Asia BU financial performance to senior management.
