Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide support for the Metals and Mining Finance platform of the Natural Resources and Infrastructure Group. As such, s/he will be involved in a broad range of transactions involving the metals & minerals sector where s/he will build close relationships with the teams onshore and within the organisation more broadly, to provide execution and origination support capability for financing solutions, including project finance, corporate finance, acquisition finance and financial advisory.


You will have the following responsibilities:
  • Prepare, customise, optimise and maintain the financial model, including creating, checking and running scenarios and sensitivities. This includes undertaking interrogation of financial models for project mandates
  • Support in all aspects of the credit process including the preparation of credit applications and due diligence analysis
  • Assist with utilising internal models used to assess loan profitability and capital usage
  • Manage internal processes relating to all arranging and advisory business (e.g. updating databases, memo writing, completing relevant internal system-based processes)
  • Support gathering of client information for various compliance and other internal processes
  • Stay abreast of developments across the metals & mining sector as well as current transactions and opportunities in the market
  • Identify potential marketing opportunities and prepare pitch materials as required
  • Assist in preparing content for internal and external stakeholders using reporting tools
  • Support the team in all aspects of their delivery to internal stakeholders and clients including providing day to day transaction support across the team

The VIE assignment in a nutshell
This VIE in Australia is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information, please see www.civiweb.com.

Profile Required

You are graduated with a Master degree from Engineering or Business School or University with a specialization in in Accounting, Legal, Finance, Engineering, Metallurgy, Actuarial, Economics, Business or a related discipline

Exposure to banking & finance industry will be preferred

You are fluent in English

You are proficient in Microsoft Office application (Excel, powerpoint) and Macros.

You have the following job skills:

- Proven analytical/ numerical or modelling skills: Proven analytical skills, numerical skills and understanding of financial statements, cashflow and financial modelling skills

- Communication skills: Good interpersonal skills with the ability

The Natural Resources and Infrastructure Group (GLBA/NAT) within the Global Banking and Advisory business line focuses on the development of a worldwide business franchise in the Natural Resources, Energy and Infrastructure sector by providing clients with financing solutions as well as providing advisory services. Onshore in Australia, the Group provides a range of finance and advisory services for producers, traders, processors and end-users of energy, metals and commodities as well as within the public sector through three key platforms:

  • Energy including renewable energy, power, petroleum, oil & gas and petrochemicals
  • Metals, Mining and Finance working with players in the metals & minerals sector including large and diversified mining companies
  • Infrastructure operating in sectors including transportation (roads, railways, ports, airports) and accommodation.
