ABOUT THE JOB:
The Operations Department (GBSU) ensures the operational processing and control of activity across all Global Banking and Investor Solutions business lines (Capital Markets, ex-Newedge & Financing). GBSU implements all necessary means to ensure the operational, administrative, and financial processing of capital markets and credit operations initiated by these business lines. We ensure the control and security of transaction processing in accordance with current financial regulations while acting as the first level of control on operations and booking quality. GBSU provide all necessary support during the lifecycle of the transaction, perform Know Your Customer processing, and provide general client relationship management. GBSU also acts to steer the evolution of regulatory projects and controls our external service providers.
The Counterparty Collateral Management team works to reduce counterparty risk by negotiating and administering collateral annex provisions for all master agreements (derivatives, repo, securities lending, clearing, prime brokerage, etc.). The collateral annex defines the acceptable collateral, calculation rules for each asset type, how custodial relationships are handled, and what actions are to occur during an event of a default or other termination event. The Cross-Asset Collateral and Risk negotiation team is responsible for providing the operational feasibility review during the legal negotiation, regulatory compliance, and controls where applicable, and input and validation of agreements in the relevant databases and investigating any disputes or regulatory inquiries. We are a cross-regional team with hubs in India, Paris, and New York.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
The Collateral Management Specialist helps to mitigate credit and regulatory risk to the firm by monitoring exposure levels versus collateral balances. This activity crosses several asset classes, including equities, rates, FX, credit, commodity, fixed income, structured and financing products (SFT).
This new position in our structure will initially require the implementation of a target operating model with clear communication between the regions and a follow the sun process. Responsibilities include:
1. Project: Implement the Target Operating Model
Ø Implement a follow the sun process on SFT collateral pool
Ø Define RACI between different stakeholders
Ø Define controls to reduce operational risks on collateral pools
Ø Propose end of day actions to anticipate day+1 collateral shortfalls
Ø Ensure IT chain convergence
Ø Deploy target IT tools on AMER scope
Ø Align processes and controls with EMEA team
2. Production:
Ø Instruct margin calls, interest calculation, payment/receive orders as per Collateral Documentation.
Ø Book collateral movements as agreed with each counterparty
Ø Interact with worldwide SG departments such as FO/MO/BO, Risk, Legal, Compliance and Audit.
Ø Take the required action when a counterparty default
Ø Select the best collateral based on the contract terms, the collateral optimization process and the defined strategies
Ø Raise alert in the event of unusual client activity
Ø Attend client meetings to represent the collateral activity
Ø Monitor KPIs
· Solve disputes
Ø Manage the dispute resolution process
Ø Reconcile, investigate, and follow up on any trade/MTM discrepancies with clients
Ø Coordinate the dispute resolution either internally or liaising with the client ensuring a remediation plan is in place
Ø Ensure requests are addressed in a timely manner
· Manage collateral pool
Ø Follow with Front Office that enough collateral and right quality securities have been sent to the pool
Ø Propose collateral optimizations
Ø Follow collateral settlements and monitor CSDR impacts
· Process improvements:
Ø Write Procedures (operating modes)
Ø Relay to the team any issues found daily to identify and implement process improvements
Ø Champion initiatives for improved client service, process efficiency, control, cost savings, etc.
· Perimeter:

Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
Ø Good knowledge of repo, derivatives, and Collateral Management
Ø Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ø Strong financial analysis skills
Ø Familiarity with banking procedures, loan, and payment systems
Ø Familiarity with legal documentation including CSAs, MSFTAs, MRAs Sec Lending agreements and clearing agreements.
Ø Excellent organizational and work documentation skills
Ø Ability to maintain an awareness of changing market conditions and the relevant impact on clients.
Ø Ability to interact in a mature and professional manner when interfacing with clients, team members and other SG departments
Desired / Plus:
Ø Previous experience in Financing

Qualifications:
Experience Needed:
Ø 5+ years’ experience in investment banking
Ø 3+ years direct collateral management experience
Educational Requirements:
Ø BS degree in Finance and/or Business
Languages:
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
