Global Banking Technology & Operations (GBTO) delivers day-to-day services to Global Banking & Investor Solutions (GBIS) Business Units and their clients. On the one hand: transversal, product-neutral Coverage teams spanning all businesses, who's role is to promote the Bank's products and services to our clients globally.
On the other: a world-class capital raising, financing and advisory expertise organized under five business divisions: Investment Banking Division (IBD); Asset Finance (AFI); Natural Resources and Infrastructure (NAT); Asset Backed Products (ABP) and Syndication (SYN).
Within GBTO and central to supporting GLBA’s Front Officers, the Loan Closing Team analyzes legal documentation, models deal in the information system (LoanIQ) and ultimately closes deals across the various businesses described in the above for the New York branch of Société Générale. The Structured Loans and Collateral Pledge Program Expert will be part of the Closing team and will support the bank’s Collateral Pledge Program. This is an individual contributor role located in Montreal, Canada and will have the responsibilities listed below.
What will be your DAY-TO-DAY?
- Support FRBNY Borrower in Custody (BIC) discount window pledge program by daily review of spreadsheet updates, maintenance, and validation of eligible facilities. Prior similar experience will be considered a strong asset
- Review credit and non-credit documents of all levels of complexity to ensure compliance with bank regulations
- Liaise between Legal and Front office for any document discrepancies, modifications, or deficiencies
- Support internal and external audits and reviews
- Maintain Pending/Deficiency Reports, monitor receipt of missing documents and assist with ad hoc inquiries regarding BIC pledging
- Ensure timely delivery of required reporting to FRB
- Support automation projects and ongoing business initiatives in parallel with daily responsibilities
- Set up and maintenance of customer, deal, and facility information in LoanIQ – ensure accuracy of system information (accurately reflects structure of deal)
- Ensure data quality; review, investigate and resolve all anomalies
- Complete special projects as assigned
Profile required
Skills and Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of overall commercial lending experience
- Extensive Credit documentation knowledge
- Hands-on experience with the LoanIQ application in a Commercial Loan Closing capacity
- Deal amendments processing
- Rigorous attention to detail with a control-oriented mindset
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with minimal follow-up
- Self-confidence and ambition for growth
Nice to Have:
- BS/BA – Finance/Economics
- Credit Risk background
- Effective writing and project management skills
Languages: English, French
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, is a requirement as the person in this position will need to collaborate regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
