Role: Tech Lead / Agile Master  

Data Chapter in FRM/RPC primarily drives the core Risk & Finance platform strategy by architecting, designing, building and maintaining the core platform (Metrics Platform) that forms the base for key Market Risk functions like metrics monitoring and certification, market risk regulatory requirements. The platform is being built by transforming certain legacy key applications as well as by developing new components, aligning with the digital transformation objectives of GBSU and SG group and the sgmarkets standards. Core platform uses APIs, UI/UX strategy, Cubes and is built in a data lake using big data ecosystem with HDFS, HBase, Hive, Spark, Kafka   

BDCF team forms the core of Data Chapter and helps in achieving the platform deliveries on time with good quality. BDFC team has a team of technical experts in Big-data/Java who contribute to different evolutions and components of the platform in technologies that include Spark, Kafka, HBase, Hive, Java etc and play an key role in design, development, testing and production roll-out of platform components.  

Job Description

  • This role has an approx. 75% Tech Lead + 25% of Agile Master responsibilities
  • Design, development and testing of components / modules in Metrics platform (which is part of the larger Risk & Finance platform) involving Spark, Java, Kafka, Hbase, Hive and related big-data technologies in a datalake architecture
  • Contribute to the migration of existing components/metrics to Azure public cloud and develop/deploy new components in Azure public cloud
  • Contribute to the evolution of REST APIs in the metrics platform – enhancement, development and testing of new APIs
  • Ensure the processes in metric platform provide an optimal performance and assist in performance tuning and optimization  
  • Act as an Agile master for the BDFC team and ensure Agile@Scale is followed by the team in terms of participation in PI Planning and follow-up, Sprint planning, Back-log maintenance in Jira, organize demos/review meetings and guide the BDFC team in ensuring timely and quality delivery.
  • As an agile master, accountable for meeting the delivery timelines and coordinate with different teams to manage the dependencies and pre-requisites
  • Ensure Craftsmanship practices are in place and followed by the team
  • Contribute to the Data Chapter objectives, vision and evolution
  • Organize training sessions on the core platform and related technologies for the Tribe / Business line to ensure the platform evolution is continuously updated to relevant stakeholders 

Profile Required

Proficiency in at least one programming language (Core competency)
- Good understanding of Software lifecycle
- Knowledge of software Design principles"
- General understanding of investment banking industry is desired
