Trading Assistant: responsible for the direct support of the US Long and Short term Rates Trading Desks in NY specializing in vanilla and Exotic IRD products. The position is based in New York under the hierarchical supervision of the head of OPER/FIC Middle Offices.

General Responsibilities Include:

  • Deal Capture: enforce controls designed to make sure that executed trades are booked promptly and accurately.
  • Booking of Exotic products for Interest Rate/Credit Derivative desk
  • Lifecycle Management: Ensure proper processing of coupons/fixings/maturities
  • Trade Modifications/Cancellations.
  • Ensure consistency of process with global TSU counterparts.
  • Resolve Front Office vs. Back Office Trade Breaks.
  • Processing trade compressions via Tri-optima.
  • Keep all procedure manuals current and up to date.
  • Respond to requests for Audit and Inspection teams.
  • Liaison between Front Office, Back Office, Product Control Group, IT teams globally.
  • Test system upgrades/enhancements.
  • Ad Hoc assisting of the traders and salespersons.
  • Monitoring of the STP processes so that all trades flow to BO systems promptly.
  • Booking of Structured Interest rate and Credit Derivative OTC and Notes
  • Trade maintenance: monitoring STP flows, resolving breaks, and updating client instructions.
  • Confirming trades with clients.
  • Liaise with Back Office to investigate and resolve fails, DK’s and breaks.

Profile required

Required Product Expertise:

  • Experience supporting a Rates Trading Desk – Vanilla IRD, TRS, Swaption, Caps/Floors and other Structured Products in the Rates/Credit World
  • Strong Markitwire knowledge.
  • Mastery of Clearing swaps via LCH and CME as well as the netting process via Trioptima.
  • Product exposure should also include thorough understanding of Options, and Credit Derivative exposure
  • Familiar with Regulatory obligations


  • Fixed Income ETF- Creation /Redemption
  • Swaptions, Caps and Floors
  • Knowledge of FX Markets
  • Strong Excel skills

Required Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and partnering skills.
  • Ability to handle various ad-hoc requests in a dynamic environment.
  • Prone to take initiatives. Proactive and detail oriented.


Required/Must have:

2-5 years experience supporting a Rates/Credit Derivative Trading Desk.
