Singapore Trainee Corporate and Investment Banking

Responsibilities

As a DCM DSA team member, you will work closely with DSA and DCM originators on all DSA-related topics with a focus on Sustainable Bonds, providing support in the preparation of marketing & advisory presentations (e.g. monitoring of the primary market activity and developments, investor behavior, as well as any other relevant material for the day-to-day business and client’s interactions).

Depending on the level of experience, the candidate may also be involved in the execution of mandates, interacting with SG syndicate and legal teams.

The trainee will be based in Singapore and is expected to work and interact with DSA Sustainable Bond team members based both in Paris and Singapore.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Help prepare pitch books for client meetings
  • Update existing databases for Sustainable Bond transactions and regular documents sent both internally and to clients
  • Prepare research tools: re-useable spreadsheets, templates, deal reports
  • Assist in the execution of mandates as the case may be

Profile required

Academic Background And Certifications, Experience

  • Bachelor / Master Degree in Finance or Economics
  • Previous experience in banking / insurance / in an extra-financial agency / or in an ESG department of a corporate

Department Description

Within the investment banking division of Société Générale, the Debt Capital Markets (DCM) platform helps clients raise funds in the international bond markets through an advisory-driven approach.

Within DCM, the DCM Solutions and Advisory (DSA) team provides structuring and execution advice on Green / Social Bonds, Hybrid Debt and Liability Management for banks, insurers, corporates and certain public sector entities as well as Rating advisory for SG’s key financial institutions clients.

Sustainable Bonds, should they be Green / Social Bonds (financing new and existing projects with environmental / social benefits) or Sustainability-Linked Bonds (general corporate purposes proceeds), enable issuers to link their funding strategy to their ESG strategy

Hybrid Debt includes Tier 2 and Additional Tier 1 regulatory capital instruments for banks, Restricted Tier 1 and Tier 2 instruments for insurers, and subordinated bonds for corporate issuers

Liability management encompasses repurchases and exchanges of outstanding bonds, as well as consent solicitations to modify the terms and conditions of the bonds

The team covers SG clients in Europe, CEEMEA and Asia, with team members located in Paris, London and Singapore.
