Trainee – 12 months’ Contract – South East Asia Communications
Responsibilities
Based in Singapore and working under the supervision of the Vice President of Communications for South East Asia, the South East Asia Communications Trainee is responsible for:
- Supporting the implementation of the communications plan for South East Asia, integrating local implementation of the global/APAC communication strategy
- Support communication activities to the Singapore Branch and the various staff engagement committees
The role particularly focuses on delivering the following objectives, shared with the local business lines and HR teams:
- Promote the bank’s image as an employer;
- Support and enhance client relations;
- Generate staff engagement
The scope of responsibility covers all channels promoting Societe Generale’s image and activities in South East Asia, in support of VP, Communications for SE Asia:
Branding & advertising
- Support the local implementation of any usage of Societe Generale’s brand
- Support sourcing of merchandising products and gifts for COMM-led projects
- Govern and support the local implementation of any usage of Societe Generale’s brand in coordination with the relevant expert
Partnerships & Citizenship
- Support the local implementation of the Asia Pacific sponsorship platform
- Support the coordination and implementation of citizenship initiatives across SE Asia
Editorial & digital communications
- In close collaboration with the Editorial team based in Hong Kong, and in support of SEA and the Asia Pacific region more broadly, create and deliver engaging and impactful visual content across a broad range of multimedia formats (i.e video, infographics, written) on owned media channels, focusing on business activities and corporate culture, and to support internal, managerial, external communications.
- Help with the implementation of any employee communications and branding for the physical office space where required. i.e display mediums like posters/banners, digital signage.
Events
- Support staff engagement events supporting Citizenship/Diversity/internal social activities in collaboration with HR and the various staff engagement committees
- Support the organisation of client events locally in collaboration with the business lines
- Support HR in campus partnership events
The role implies also to assist the other Communications team members across Asia-Pacific as and when required.
Profile required
Academic Background And Certifications, Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in communications, media & communication or marketing
- Internship experience in a multi-national corporation, specialised communication agency, or media agency is advantageous
- Strong written and verbal communication with excellent time management and organisational skills
- Strong digital and creative skills: Proficiency in MS suite, Adobe Photoshop /Premiere with design and video editing skills
- Willingness to learn and ability to communicate ideas clearly to the wider Asia Pacific communications team

Department Description
The Communication department of Societe Generale Asia-Pacific ensures:
- The definition and implementation of the Communication strategy in the region (approx. 9,000 staff across 12 locations), in line with Societe Generale group communication and Asia-Pacific overall strategy and objectives;
- The promotion of Societe Generale’s brand, culture, values, and business expertise to its internal and external stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region across the different communication channels;
- The support for their communication purposes and issues of its corporate functions and business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Markets and Investor solutions, Asset Management, and Transaction Banking.
The Communication department consists of a team based in Hong Kong and dedicated resources in key locations: China, India, Japan, and Singapore for SE Asia. The department is structured around the following activities:

- Partnerships & citizenship;
- Media relations;
- Editorial & digital communication;
- Events.
The South East Asia sub-region encompasses 5 countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
