Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

Societe Generale Global Transaction & Payment Services (GTPS) includes Payment & Cash Management (PCM), Trade Services (TRA), Factoring (CGA) and Cash Clearing Services (BAN), as well as the FX services associated with these activities.

The PCM team delivers and supports cash management products and services that are provided to our corporate customers. With over 6,000 specialists in over 28 countries, PCM is a strategic activity for Societe Generale, and we can offer the expertise of a large international banking group and experience spanning over twenty years.

The TRA team delivers all trade-related services such as documentary credits or LCs, Standby Letters of Credit, International guarantees and finance associated across 29 countries.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • The trainee will support the Sales Facilitation team and the Sales team in their day-to-day commercial activities
  • They will help to prepare financial and commercial reporting, conducting deep data analysis for our department and help with the automation of the different tasks of our team
  • They will work closely with the sales team to maintain, monitor and manage all relevant databases
  • The role will play a key part in monitoring the different KPIs and reporting for the department

Summary of responsibilities

Data Management:

  • Help manage and monitor all key data
  • Work closely with the Sales team to monitor and control the different databases and relevant metrics

Credit Risk Management:

  • Support the sales team in the monitoring of the department’s credit risk exposure
  • Assist the department in both producing and analysing quantitative data to be used in regulatory reports
  • Monitor the internal credit renewal process

Sales Support:

  • Work closely with the Sales team to manage the deals pipeline and ensure all call reports are logged in a timely manner
  • Perform regular client portfolio cleanups with the Sales team to maintain accuracy
  • Work with the Sales team to ensure the CRM tool is kept up to date and accurate

Profile required

Competencies

  • Degree or equivalent in Management Accounting or a similar field advantageous
  • Previous data analysis experience advantageous
  • Bank industry experience or knowledge advantageous
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to think innovatively
  • Ability to organise and prioritise task
  • Ability to analyse data and identify patterns or errors is crucial
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI and other MS Office packages essential
  • Ability to take ownership of tasks and deliver quality results in a timely manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build positive and collaborative working relationships
  • A positive and pro-active attitude towards work
