Responsibilities

The key purpose of the role is to provide support to RISQ/RMA/HPC analysts in performing the team’s core missions. 

  • Provide support to the analysts in credit risk assessments including evaluating stated strategies, the investment process, risk controls, team capabilities, fund particulars (such as structure, fees, liquidity terms and other factors) and an array of quantitative measures, on predominately hedge funds and proprietary trading companies.
  • Provide support to the analysts in preparing due diligence meeting’s minutes and well written and cogent credit memos.  
  • Assist the analysts in their daily monitoring of exposure, addressing daily overshoots across all applicable CCR metrics and escalate any deterioration in credit quality as per Credit Policies.
  • Support the team in production of daily, weekly, and monthly reporting of exposure and overshoots associated risk and analysis and escalation as necessary.
  • Propose ratings using our approved rating models on certain counterparties.
  • Participate in different initiatives run by the team.  
  • Stay connected with industry trends and macro issues which may impact the portfolio; be able to recommend changes or action impacting specific clients or groups of clients.
  • Have a good understanding of the regulatory environment that each of our counterparts operates in.

Profile required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other business-related discipline.  A CFA designation would be highly beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of counterparty credit risk, OTC & Listed derivatives and/or securities financing transactions.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Attention to details; unaffected under high pressure
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI. Coding in VBA / Python is a plus.
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn quickly and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently while understanding when to involve other team members as needed and to work effectively in a team environment.

This is a fixed term 12 month Trainee contract with Societe Generale. You will form part of the team on a full time basis. In order to apply for the Trainee position please ensure you have completed your qualification and will be available to work full time for the duration of the Trainee contract.
