Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

Within the GLBA/ENV department, you will join the global Positive Impact Structuring Team in charge of structuring sustainable finance solutions and ESG Advisory services for the benefit of the bank’s UK clients. This team works in cooperation with the coverage and business lines of GLBA UK and deploys its ESG expertise to design tailor made products (bonds, loans, guarantees and derivatives) and services fitting the clients’ market access optimization and sustainable development agenda. You will be working directly with the team’s representative in the UK.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

  • Working hand in hand with the UK’s representative for Sustainable Finance
  • Be a point of contact for UK coverage and front office teams to assist them with developing sustainable finance solutions. This includes research, preparing and participating to pitching, being involved in structuration of ESG elements into the bank’s products.
  • Assist with deployment of the UK ESG Roadmap within the GLBA perimeter

Summary of responsibilities

Research

  • Research on current news and reports pertaining to ESG
  • Research on the bank’s clients on their ESG strategies
  • Peer benchmarking

Pitching

  • Assisting in writing the ESG structuration part of pitches, in coordination with coverage and business lines
  • Listening in to pitches and as appropriate, participating to them
  • Helping to identify ESG financing opportunities

Deal structuration

  • Assisting coverage and business lines with structuring sustainability features in the products of the banks (with a focus on loans and bonds); these can be sustainability-linked loans/bonds or green/social loans/bonds

Deal execution

  • Take ownership of the ESG workstream at deal execution stage, in coordination with a senior member of the team

Profile required

  • An interest in sustainability and ESG
  • An interest in the financial sector
  • Strong analytical skills
  • An ability to see the big picture, but also go into details when required
  • Being a team player
  • Willingness to cooperate as the job involves working with many teams and various levels of seniority
  • Capacity to work autonomously

  • Time management and ability to work under pressure (at times)
  • Clear and concise writing and communicating and good presentation skills – fluency in English is required, any other language is a plus
  • Strong powerpoint knowledge
