Responsibilities

The Communication department of Société Générale Asia-Pacific ensures:

·        The definition and implementation of the Communication strategy in the region (approx. 9,000 staff across 12 locations), in line with Société Générale group communication and Asia-Pacific overall strategy and objectives

·        The promotion of Société Générale’s brand, culture, values, and business expertise to its internal and external stakeholders in the Asia-Pacific region across the different communication channels

·        The support for their communication purposes and issues of its corporate functions and business activities, principally in Financing & Advisory, Global Markets and Investor solutions, and Transaction Banking

The Communication department consists of a team based in Hong Kong and dedicated resources in key locations: China, India, Japan, and Singapore for SE Asia. The department is structured around the following activities:

·        Branding & advertising

·        Partnerships & citizenship

·        Media relations

·        Editorial& digital communication

·        Events

The role will be based in Mumbai and will work under the supervision of the Head of Communications, India. The role involves supporting the communication strategy for the Bank, as providing support to the Securities business as and when required. The main areas of focus will be as follows:

1.      Communication:

·        Support internal and external communication for various stakeholders by helping in the planning and delivery of compelling and effective messages that reflects the values and objectives of the Group

·        Assist in drafting of key communication messages for various channels like newsletter, social media, mailers, success stories and articles

·        Help in creating content repository which can be readily used as and when needed

2.      Creative designing:

·        Work in tandem with the Asia Pacific communications team and design impactful social media creatives keeping the brand guidelines in mind

·        Attention to details and a strong interest for graphic designing

·        Familiarisation and hands on experience of using tools like Adobe Photoshop etc.

·        Co-ordinate and prepare creative decks for townhalls, events etc.

3.      Process management:

·        Help onboard local vendors and manage the process for timely payments to vendors

·        Support internal co-ordination and documentation for event management as and when required

4.      Social media, website, and intranet management:

·        Where required, publishing approved content on social media, website, and intranet

·        Identifying content that can be featured on various channels

·        Monitoring conversations on social media with the objective to protect and build reputation of the Societe Generale brand

5.      Events:

·        Support internal and external events including: organizing of all-staff townhalls, staff engagement events, client events and assist in CSR events. This includes preparing communications, coordination and running the events

6.      Branding:

·        Assist in all activities pertaining to branding and ensuring that brand guidelines are followed

·        Helping create various assets like stationery, banners, standees, and other items to amplify our brand among internal and external stakeholders

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply for a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

Studies & experience:

·        Graduate with a Master’s degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in communications, media & communication or marketing

·        Internship experience in a multi-national corporation, specialized communication agency, or media agency is advantageous

Language skills:

·        Fluent in English (B2-C1)

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

·        Proficient/Good command of MS Office

·        Good communication and presentation skills

·        Strong written and verbal communication with excellent time management and organizational skills

·        Strong digital and creative skills: Proficiency in MS suite, Adobe Photoshop/Premiere with design and video editing skills

·        Willingness to learn and ability to communicate ideas clearly to the wider Asia Pacific communications team

·        Strong sense of responsibility and a strong team player

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in India is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 12 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
