The CRE department is responsible for the credit analysis of non-structured transactions for both Corporates and Financial Institutions, and the exposure management for same perimeter. The team consists of ~ 32 FTEs located in New York, Chicago, Houston, Toronto, Montreal and Brazil, with supporting staff in Bangalore - India. Client coverage includes large multinational corporates and banks as well as subsidiaries of non-US clients. Products include traditional lending but also strong focus on derivatives and structured products.

Your VIE mission will be focused on the below pillars :

  • Credit approval process for GLBA in AMER 
    - Provide the weekly pipeline (GLBA in the region and globally, RISQ), liaising with the Business lines and Coverage teams;
    - Prepare the deal flow for Senior Management, to indicate which requests will need their approvals in the next two weeks;
    - Prepare requests for approval going to Senior Management;
    - When needed, organize the credit committee (regional or global- with the EMO team)  with the goal of reviewing requests originated or booked in the region which fall under the signing authority of the head of GLBA in the Americas or above. The tasks include setting the committee with the relevant stakeholders, liaising with the deal team(s) to gather the relevant documents and approvals, take notes during the meeting and provide the meeting minutes.
  • Delegations
    - Assist deal teams in defining delegation level needed for approval, wen needed;
    - Keep up to date the Delegation sahrepoint for the Region;
    - Help define delegation for new stakeholders.
  • Other
    - Identify ways for optimization / gain in efficiency in approval process;
    - Help on automation of existing processes;
    - Use available tools to improve efficiency;
    - Other tasks.

Profile required

PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

• Graduate with a Master degree from Business/Engineering School or University with a specialization in Finance
• A previous experience in Finance / Investment Banking would be appreciated
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Proficient/Good command of MS Office
• Fluent in English 

The VIE assignment in a nutshell

This VIE in New York is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 18 months.

In case a visa is necessary, please make sure your passport is valid up to 6 months after the end of the VIE contract to not delay your departure.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.

We would like to draw your attention to the fact there that your VIE mission could potentially get postponed, depending on the evolution of the health crisis and subjects to the decision made by the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
