Within Société Générale - Global Solution Centre Romania, you will join as a VIE the Level 2 Control Risk team in Bucarest. In charge with the 2nd level permanent controls the team exercises its control mission on operational risk related to credit and market risks, structural risks, including liquidity risk, and operational risks related to the various businesses, as well as on purchasing, communication, real estate, human resources, processes and information systems.
The Level 2 Control team is part of the Second Line of Defense of the group Société Générale, whose main responsibility is to provide an objective, thorough and impartial evaluation of the relevance, quality and effectiveness of the permanent control framework in place in order to ensure a sufficient coverage of the identified risks.
Your main mission will be the execution of level 2 control reviews in the domains of expertise RISQ, including:
- Launching of a review (identify stakeholders, pre-analysis, list of documents to be collected, preparing and sending the Announcement Letter);
- Organizing the Kick-Off Meeting with supporting document and presentation;
- Analysis of the completeness and reliability of the existing Level 1 Control (L1C);
- Quantitative and qualitative verification of the results of the operational controls;
- Ensuring that all key risks are covered by appropriate permanent controls executed by the first line of defense;
- Replaying or executing the control on a sample that is distinct from the one selected by the first line of defense;
- Assessment of the completeness and quality of the Activity/Process/Risk/Control mapping in the group tool;
- Formalization of identified deficiencies using standard report templates (presentations, reports and summaries);
- Presentation of the results to the stakeholders and the company management;
- Monitoring and active support for the timely and complete implementation of the published recommendations;
- Participation in supporting the presentation of control results to company management in committees (OpRisk Committee, Compliance Committee, ICCC, Audit Committee);
- Regular exchanges and collaboration with the central teams and other second level control teams located in different countries.
Profile required
PLEASE NOTE that since this program is primarily an international development program, candidates cannot apply to a VIE assignment in their own country of citizenship.

• Graduated with a Master degree in Business Administration, Banking, Finance, Economics or any related field;
• First experience or internships, preferably within a compliance or risk department in a bank or financial institution would be appreciated (e.g. KYC, S&E, AML, Risk Management);
• Strong writing and research skills as well as attention to details;
• Good communication and presentation skills;
• Proficient/Good command of MS Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint;
• Fluency in English is mandatory.
The VIE assignment in a nutshell
The VIE in Romania is to begin as soon as possible but you need to plan 3 months between your application date and the beginning of your VIE assignment. It will last 24 months.
The VIE is a specific contract, under Business France’s eligibility criteria, opened to candidates under 28 and from the member states of the European Economic Space. For further information (including your financial indemnities), please see Mon VIE-VIA Business France.
We would like to draw your attention to the fact there that your VIE mission could potentially get postponed, depending on the evolution of the health crisis and subjects to the decision made by the Crisis and Support Centre of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE). In addition, the selected candidate will only be paid upon confirmation from Business France and arrival in the country of assignment.
