Project Finance - Energy and Infrastructure -Analyst – M/F/D
Responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated Project Finance Analyst to join our growing team. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the structuring and execution of complex financing transactions across Spain and Portugal on the Energy and Infrastructure sector.
The GLBA/EMI/IDT mission statement is to develop a worldwide business franchise in the Energy and Infrastructure sectors by providing clients with financing solutions as well as providing advisory services.
This department offers advising and financing solutions dedicated to:
Infrastructure projects in the transportation sectors, regulated assets, telecom, water and environment as well as social infrastructure and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP)
Energy projects in the different renewable technologies, hydrogen, batteries storage, biofuels or biogas
This analyst position is located in Madrid, and the team is currently composed of 5 people + 1 VIE.
From an early stage, the candidate will be involved in client interactions and work closely with multiple teams across the organization, gaining hands-on experience in both advisory and transaction execution.
Tasks and responsibilities:
As an Analyst focus on the advisory and arranging of energy and infrastructure transactions across Iberia, your main responsibilities will be:
Project Finance Financial Modeling
Develop and maintain financial models, particularly for advisory mandates
Review and analyze financial models provided by clients and external advisors in the context of financing transactions
Origination Support
Contribute to the preparation of pitch materials and client presentations
Perform market and sector research to support business development efforts
Advisory
Build and adapt financial models, perform sensitivity analyses, and support clients in bidding processes and tenders
Participate in meetings with sponsors, advisors, and public authorities as required
Arranging
Support due diligence processes alongside external advisors
Assist in the preparation of credit applications and internal approval documentation
Contribute to the syndication process in coordination with relevant internal teams
Provide support across the execution of financing transactions
Internal Processes & Tools
Perform profitability analysis (RARORC and related metrics)
Use internal financing platforms and ensure proper KYC compliance
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including Middle Office, Risk Management, and Credit teams
Profile required
Studies & experience:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, Finance or a related field
1–3 years of relevant experience in banking, project finance, infrastructure, or consulting
Expertise in financial modeling, ideally within Project Finance
Previous experience in energy or infrastructure finance or advisory will be considered a plus
Language skills:
Spanish: C1
English: C1

Strong numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work in a collaborative environment
Good understanding of technical, accounting, and tax aspects of financing structures
Strong risk assessment capabilities and ability to analyze complex projects
Highly committed, flexible, and capable of working in demanding, fast-paced environments
High level of motivation, and willingness to learn and grow
Ability to progressively gain autonomy, with initial guidance from senior team members
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
Strong interest in advisory roles and project-based work
Proactive, dynamic, and eager to learn and grow within a high-performing team
