Roles and Responsibilities                               

  • Perform various top day functions related to cash equities, fixed income and stock lending/borrowing activities.
  • Perform and monitor settlements for cash equity and fixed income transactions.
  • Work with desk and external counterparties in order to ensure proper booking and settlement of stock lending transactions (including new borrows, recalls, returns and buy-ins).
  • Work with counterparties and clients on resolving any outstanding settlement issue.
  • Investigate and resolve T+1 cash and position breaks.  Make proper adjustments in client and/or internal accounts when required.
  • Perform client services functions – Answer client queries (phone and e-mail), re-issue statements and reports on demand, review fees and commissions, etc.
  • Work with clients on any margin/collateral/pricing issue.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all key controls are performed. Constantly looking to improve controls to ensure the proper allocation of all trades

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing or related field) preferred
  • Minimum 2 year experience in a Securities settlement environment

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Understanding of clearing workflow from trade execution to settlement
  • Good knowledge of Sungard GMI and/or Loanet, an asset
  • Microsoft Office Suite knowledge essential (emphasis on Excel)
  • Ability to work under high pressure environment
  • Customer service focus

Perform the day-to-day processing of Securities for Canadian and US markets, and other tasks as assigned by the Vice-President.

Profile
