DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION

As a debt capital markets team member you will work directly with the Co-head of the Americas and their originating teams covering SG’s North American and Latam client bases. The intern will be required to ensure that each originator is fully supported and provided with the necessary information they need in order to advise their clients. The successful candidate will thus need to provide support on the analytical side, presentations and marketing as well as be extremely organised. Sectors covered include both Corporates and Financial Institutions.


Mission

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Support DCM originators in developing client presentations, proposals and updates.
  • Assist in the execution of DCM mandates, coordinating internal and external resources and contacts.
  • Conduct analysis on new issues and credit analysis on target clients.
  • Prepare frequent written market updates and client marketing documents.
  • Ensure all key marketing information is disseminated to the client base in an appropriate timescale.
  • Work with other business lines, the coverage unit and investment banking to create internal and external marketing presentations.
  • Complete transversal tasks.
  • Engage fully with other key stakeholder business lines.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Excellent analytical skills – significant data research and credit analysis.
  • Good quantitative skills – comfortable with all aspects of financial maths.
  • Financial skills – able to interpret a balance sheet (financial institutions as well as corporates).
  • Organizational skills – multiple tasks with multiple deadlines in short spaces of time.
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg is a plus
  • First class marketing skills – the ability to synthesize complex market arguments is crucial.

PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Although experience in the Debt Capital Markets, specifically Origination, would be a plus, it is not a pre-requisite. Broad profiles will be considered, especially if it is believed the candidate has a financial background and some knowledge of the international bond market.
  • Able to develop an understanding of derivatives and structured products.

**This internship is 6-12 months in duration looking for an intern to work full-time hours. Compensation is hourly based on education and experience**
