Our company culture
In addition to being a significant participant in U.S. investment banking, Societe Generale is committed to fostering a positive company culture and being a responsible, engaged corporate citizen.
Employees in the U.S. actively participate in the firm’s many Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Each year, Societe Generale runners compete in the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge and in the Story by Story stair climb benefitting the Her Justice charity. As part of our global Citizenship Time Commitment, Societe Generale teams competed in a “spinathon,” raising money for Boys and Girls Harbor and CARA Road Scholars through biking miles in spin classes.

Societe Generale has supported the Teak Fellowship, helping students from low-income families receive academic aid, leadership training and mentoring that helps them gain admission to top high schools and colleges. The firm is actively involved in CentsAbility, an organization dedicated to educating and empowering teens in the fundamentals of finance, as well as “She’s The First,” a not-for-profit that sponsors girls’ education in developing countries, giving students the chance to be the first in their families to graduate from secondary school. In addition to these programs, Societe Generale has participated in many other charitable and social activities in all of its U.S. office locations.
Societe Generale has an active effort in developing Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Americas Women’s Network, SG Pride, which unites the LGBT community within Societe Generale, and a Hispanic ERG are three of the first groups formed. ERGs are just one part of a larger Diversity & Inclusion effort that helps foster an environment where employee differences are valued and all employees feel engaged, supported, respected and informed.
